  1. If you didn't have midget feet I'd buy your kaylands. Seriously dood. Sz38? You a geisha or something?
  2. Yeah? So your boots ski pretty well now eh? Where did you ski with them? Didja get a lot of turns in? Some gnar gnar pow pow?
  3. Do these people exist? In America?
  4. I wonder why we are in this mess anyway?
  5. No, I'm not kidding. I think the US's support for Israel is fucked up and I think we should cut back on it. I think we wouldn't have the pro-Israel/anti-palestine policies that we do if people of Jewish faith didn't occupy such a disproportionate number of high academic/political/social positions in this country. ps - Sarah Silverman is hawt.
  6. According to the article, Jesse Jackson said: Does anyone deny that people of Jewish/Zionist bent have an enormous amount of power and influence in this country? I believe the first half of his statement is merely a statement of fact. I would like to see a reduction in their power as well, not because I am anti-semitc, but because I see it leading to some bad political decisions. I don't know why JJ thinks that if Obama is elected that the Zionists will lose any of their clout. I think they will continue to shape American foreign policy and politics for the foreseeable future. JJ surely steped into the area of racism/bigotry/intolerance with his "himeytown" comment of years ago, but I don't see this more recent comment as nearly as inflammatory or newsworthy. Seems the rightwing political agenda machine that is Fox News is just trying to pin some tactless comment on Obama because it was said by someone who supports him.
  7. I have a couple camp chairs that were unclaimed in the morning. Porter also has an unclaimed chair. I also have a cute little wooden sugar/equal holder. It's ever so precious! Sobo took home a folding card table. Ketch? If any of the above crap is yours, send me a PM and we'll figure out how to get it back to you.

  9. Plan ahead for full closure of eastbound US 2 near Everett on Friday Drivers must take alternate routes to avoid nearly 20-mile detour EVERETT – Weather permitting, crews will completely close eastbound US 2 between I-5 and SR 204 overnight on Friday, Oct. 10 while they restripe the eastbound trestle. During the closure, crews will remove more than two miles of striping and restripe the trestle to create two lanes of traffic and a wider, 14-foot right shoulder. Drivers should prepare for a long detour and add extra time for their trips. “We need drivers to plan ahead for this weekend’s full closure of US 2 and stay tuned as we get ready to make changes to the way eastbound traffic moves across the trestle.” said Mark Leth, Regional Traffic Engineer. Crews will start closing the on-ramps from both directions of I-5 to eastbound US 2 at 9:30 p.m. on Friday and will fully close the eastbound trestle at midnight. They will reopen one lane and the on-ramp from northbound I-5 at 7 a.m. Saturday. At noon, crews will open all lanes, including the southbound I-5 and Hewitt Avenue ramps to eastbound US 2. To avoid a nearly 20-mile detour during the closure, northbound I-5 drivers headed to the east end of the trestle must take SR 96 (128th St) in Mill Creek and southbound I-5 drivers headed to the east end of the trestle must should take SR 528 (4th St) in Marysville and connect with SR 9.
  10. $28 + $8 S/H on Steep and Cheap I think Montrail shoes suck ass, but the price is good.
  11. The way to approach this question is to think, "WWCU"? And the answer is, Colin uses the BD Spot. Case closed. p.s. - I also use the BD Spot. It helps me find the beer at ropeup and I also climbed the Tooth once and I've seen some picture of Patagonia. Seriously though, the Icon weighs almost half a fucking pound! The Spot weighs less than 2oz. I've always thought those Princeton Tec lights look/feel like cheap junk and never considered buying one. Intriguing that several people here seem to like them.
  12. hahahahaa Yeah. Remember that scene in Big Lebowski when The Dude asks the cop in the car impound lot if the detectives were going to dust for prints?
  13. I just happened across this interview: Warren Buffett on Charlie Rose show Thought some of you folks might enjoy it and I'd be interested to hear what some of the more economically literate/cogent among you have to say. Calling JayB! Yes, it is an hour long. Get a grip on your ADHD and watch it.
  14. LINK This jackass is selling "ice shoes", a "repel harness", and an "ice hatchet". Anybody have a big north face duffel full of ice gear/clothing stolen recently?
  15. I'm thinking that perhaps this could become a sticky thread in this forum. If you are searching craigslist or ebay (local PNW listings) and see someone trying to sell climbing/outdoor gear that seems suspicious to you, post it here with a short description and maybe the owner will recognize their stuff and be able to contact/maim/prosecute the thief and recover their gear.
  16. BEST TR OF THE YEAR!
  17. There is a new piece of gear that can cut down your rack size by about 75%!!!!: [img:center]http://www.ashlawnhighland.org/wn--Monroe%20Dollar%20Coin.jpg[/img] Now available at fine gear retailers near you! Awesome trip report. Alternative transportation makes things more interesting. I have very fond memories of motorcycling up to Alpental and going for a quick jaunt up Das Toof. Not quite as eco-friendly as the bus/bike combo though.

    The Debate

Blinking? Old and fat? Sweet baby jesus, even Kevbone is paying more attention to the "substantive issues" of the debate than you jokers. Edit - that was a good point about the lack of an american flag lapel pin on McCain though. Unpatriotic fuck. He is obviously doomed.
  19. I did a little when I first read that, but now I know what you mean I've done seven from "the list". Rainier - Lib Ridge Forbidden - West Ridge Grand Teton - Exum Fairview Dome - NF Bugaboo Spire - NE Ridge Liberty Bell - Lib Crack Stuart - NR Two of those were done this summer. All were enjoyable and memorable routes. I have several more from "the list" on my personal, short-term to do list.
  20. Can I come? Alpinfox need job.

    from an email...

It's a rare day in America when citizens vote for any legislation directly. We are a "representative democracy". So have you voted for any representative that has voted for legislation proscribing freedoms and the right to choose? If you have voted for any republican in the last 25 years, the odds are good that you voted to limit my right to have butt sexx, marry a member of the same sex, or have an abortion, while also voting to have your fairytales taught as fact in public schools. This is why you are getting especially harsh treatment on this website right now, right before an election. Climbers tend to be of the libertarian, live-and-let-live type and don't appreciate people telling them what to they can and can't do. The christian right have fucked up our country and are threatening to continue to fuck it up and folks on this website are pissed about that.

They don't teach spelling/grammar in sunday school?
  24. So I hear you saying, "it's part of his culture, therefore its ok for him to persecute 'witches' and run them out of town". That is bullshit. Just because he is an ignorant, brainwashed hillbilly from an exotic locale doesn't mean we should respect his beliefs. He is, in-fact, a deluded (he believes in christianity after all) thug with a penchant for egomania.
  25. Worthless? Aren't the properties still there as collateral? If that is the case, even with dropping housing prices, there is still a real asset represented by those securities right? House prices have dropped at most ~40% in places like Florida/Vegas/Phoenix, but that means that 60% of the value of those assets is still real and attainable. Right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
