Better beta for Springbok Arete (Les Cornes)
jordop replied to chris_stolz's topic in Rock Climbing Forum
There is now a direct start that bypasses the groatmeal ramp. Can't remember exact details (MEC new route book), but recall it being hard cracks -
Can you stop it with the fucking "huzzah!" shit already
-
Kinda depends on your headspace. It really isn't that steep but if you need pro maybe a picket or two would be more useful than screws.
-
Holy Jesus thats a LOOOOONG fucking hike to do a scramble route You'd probably get away with the download cause there aint many people scammin the system doin that, but to squeeze it all in before the lifts close you're looking at a really early start. If you're that cheap, go do Tricouni, better summit anyway

Driving by today, it looks as if they've got a bit of work left to do - just starting on new pilings in the river. Maybe it might not be up and running by the weekend Slesse bound travelers be ready with an alternate plan. -

Can't you come in from the other bridge over the river, further east? Does that still exist? -
Salesman I bought my current RAV4 Mariocart off told me that Toyota North America made a commitment to low emissions that put all diesel engines out of production. Rumours of a diesel/electric hybrid though . . . There are lots of guys importing diesel Toyotas from Japan in BC; they're usually pretty good deals as they haven't been driven much, but they have to be 15 yrs+ old to be imported. Right hand drive of course.

I see that MEC now has 1/4" bolts and bits back on their webpage, but no hangers apparently
-
Last time I checked MEc doesn't carry 1/4" stuff anymore. I bought out the last of their Pika 1/4" hangers . . . I'd lend you my drill but I'm craving placing the first bolt in the entire range where I'm going next week
