LADY LADY CAN YOU HEAR ME?????????????? the rescuer there looks kinda nonchalant ..."heart's not beating? whatever ...maybe now would be a good time to rifle through her pockets. Oh dear, legs are gone and with them her trouser." -

it's all good to disguise the hangers, but when they get nested up with 8 neon webbing slings the effort seems moot, no?

quote: Originally posted by David Parker: Tom, maybe we should post fresh rap beta too...I think many "up" pitches can be combined on the way down and there sure is a sea of anchors hap hazard all over the place to be used, due to all the different routes. Also, I was thinking all the belay stations on Dreamer (and Safe Sex) should be changed to chains. Since I didn't finish it 2 days ago, I'd go back with chain and links. I hate that rat nest shit of webbing! In my opinion the rappel situation on that whole wall is a disaster. If it was my place to do so I would install a direct rap route with chains or rap hangers right down the fall line from the top of the wall and cut all the webbing out.

I think that the bolt count on Mattp's topo is not correct for the second to last pitch.

if I lived in Minnesota I'd probably wear plastics everyday! brrrrrrrrrr

I didn't tell you anything cause I don't know anybody called 'snoboy'. But yes I have seen a pair of Dynafit boots break apart over the course of a 3 week trip. Those stupid hinged girder things along the sides cracked in several places. (I don't know if they have them anymore). The buckles bent and I think a rivet popped. The stitching on the liner ripped out.

the 9/11 grounding of air traffic over continental US gave a unique opportunity to measure the cooling effect of high altitude contrail haze on ground temperature. There was a paper last month in Science or Nature or some other rag about it.

what about the Avro Arrow?

The direct start was not difficult and was over with quickly. Not the most memorable part of the climb, for good or for bad.

I couldn't understand what 'highest erect cedars' meant until I looked down from the climb. They are mature cedars that are big enough to have been logged but weren't, not the scrappy little bushy cedars that clog the trail. From where you will probably hit the base of the slabs from the dry stream bed head right and up, there's flagging tape.

The New Science of Strong Materials (or Why You Don't Fall Through The Floor) and its sequel Structures (or Why Things Don't Fall Down) ... the sequel is slightly more nail-biting and has better pictures More appropriate for cc.com is 'A Confederacy of Dunces' [ 09-19-2002, 04:04 PM: Message edited by: fern ]

I dunno if you and jon are still looking at the 500 Internal Server Error stuff from a couple weeks ago, but I still get the same errors as ever before even with the chat bit gone.
