  1. now now, don't let the monkeys ruin the party. Stay strong with it. I find your progress with this interesting. If you are looking for some advice on something like this, maybe try the crossfit forum. (not cc.com of course) They have a forum page just for nutrition things.
  2. book or cd? Sure wish we could buy a book. (decidedly old school) I'll buy whatever it is though.
  3. R&D route on icicle buttress and a multi pitch to boot. sabre on castle rock, additional multi pitch bonus too. Summer is coming up so you should really be putting squamish on your radar. Take tyson up on the tour of erie. Your corn hole won't hurt to bad by the time he is done with you.
  4. If I understand you right, second can clip into their own single locker which is attached to the master point. Same as the leaders. If the protection pieces are not far apart (2 bolts for example) then you can clip both ends of the equalette to one piece and a loop into the other. when you make the master point, you will still have a shelf. This applies if the equalette is a long single piece of webbing with a loop on each end. rabbit runner is another name. You may be thinking of a cord tied in a loop with a metal ring wrapped inside. Which one you talking about? whatever the case, you can both tie into the master point with single lockers each.
  5. coleman deming route. fairly mellow glacier route with lots of big landmarks if things get foggy. great scenery too. I would shoot for a late july/august time frame. Should be lots of other people around too if that helps or deters you. (if the mountain is socked in, you can get disoriented, especially on the summit dome)
  6. would one day in spray create a healthy post count for trust?
  7. damn it. condolences to family and coworker in the park.
  8. too much variety in gear for a smash n grab theft. and besides, who climbs with a brake bar anyway?
  9. thanks for the TR. Never knew anything about Logan before. I assumed it was more like a bigger rainier but it is obviously more serious and BIGGER. great self portrait and other photos.
  10. Kurt is up in alaska range.
  11. better for making anchors. (with hard knot, not the sliding X) I got one that would be the length of a double sling and can easily make 3 point gear anchors in most situations. A gear anchor with a double runner would have to have the pieces rather close together.
  12. DIng Ding! this is why we have the interweb. Love the Church of Mosh.
  13. I am not layton, either
  14. CMH? made by chris?
  15. in the photo with the 5.8 traverse, I can see what looks like a old avi debris that poured onto the frozen lake. Looks like torn apart trees deposited onto the ice. Is this what it looks like? While certainly possible, I have never seen avi debris in that part of the area. (which is a nice bivy area in winter)
  16. extended foul weather can flush most people away, especially those camping. Sitting in the hut, while feeling like you are wasting time, is comfortable and when the weather improves, you will have the area to yourself. This is becoming a rarity. We sat in the hut for 3 days during a nasty spell with heavy rains. Every day, another batch of soggy campers would hike out. But on that fourth day, it was alpine nirvana. Took a couple days for the crowds to return. But if it is nice, applebee is much closer and a little cheaper and bit more scenic. Has toilets too.
  17. doctor dan!
  18. the small hydro projects like the young creek hydro station near sultan is a great way to generate power with minimal enviro impact. Our PUD is a very enviro conscious utility. A knee jerk reaction to any of their projects is a sign of ignorance. We should look at the plans carefully before coming to a conclusion. (I haven't seen anything about it) I think a bigger concern is the huge amount of coal ladden train traffic coming through the valley (and right by LTW index) on their way to china.
  19. it is a function of angle for me. Vertical ground, 10 feet is runout. 5.7 slabbage, 30 feet is OK. on a flat trail, I can go entire rope lengths before needing to have a piece of gear in.
  20. labor day is another good example. Seems obvious now but before I was a union member, I had no clue what it was about. I wonder what halloween is all about?
  21. kinda of a crappy day for outdoor barbie-Q. I suppose that it evolved from gathering in remembrance which food was offered into just a meat grilling festival. Just way things evolve.
  22. please take a moment to think about the 2 million folks (number from NPR this morning) who have given their lives in the various wars, conflicts and police and rescue activities to protect our freedom. may they all rest in peace and never be forgotten.
  23. second the asking layton suggestion. very helpful person try the folks at body results too.
  24. it might be solved by "tightening" certain joints, muscles and ligaments and loosening certain joints, muscles and ligaments. I am not experienced enough to diagnose but find a good sports therapist of some kind to look at the entire structure of your leg and lower trunk to find imbalances. for example, tight hip flexors which are very common in americans can cause a whole host of issues not near the hip. if and when you do find out this info, let us know. have you had a injury to the knee that was severe but never let a doctor look at it? I had a torn ACL for a year before finally seeing a doctor about it when I thought I had cartilage damage. big surprise when he said my acl was gone. Your knee hyperextenting sounds like it is straining the acl.
  25. nice Ben! where is this in relation to holy greyel and excaliber?
