  1. Talked to Brad today, he did Little Needle Rock a bunch of times (6x ?), and a few more unclimbed/uncharted pinnacles in the area. I do miss the forrest goodies myself.

  3. Great idea Jon, what is the direction the blog is heading? right now the comments are closed. is it going to be interactive?
  4. Wow John and friends. The video and pictures are stellar. Took me there, thanks, soon to make my first climb in Hyalite. Went there before, but avvy was way high. You have me stoked.
  5. Off-meister.. lol We are hoping to hook up in Hyalite after Xmas, Cute play on words too. Thanks, but dont expect big productions on all the climbs :-} What a great (and Quick) ice season we had this year! Cheers to all the many efforts!!
  6. Wait a minute, are you saying the middle falls or the lower or both had not seen a publicly know ascent? Shocking, but there is no real significance who did. It should be a place that sees many ascents .The mixed crag will be a delight!!
  7. Bold and stunning grab! well done gents
  8. Trip: Elk River, ID- ER Falls and Mixed (fa?) - Upper and Lower Elk River Falls Date: 12/13/2009 Trip Report: Saturday Beau and I went east of Pullman an hour and a half to Elk River to search for Ice. We had a good warm up session the day before on the cliff behind the local furniture store . Great little crag after they close at 6pm. Elk River is a park with view-point trails that take you by the middle and lower falls. We started on the Middle, which is the biggest. Rapping in to the middle Falls Beau led it in one long pitch were off to find the lower falls hoping it would be more difficult. We found it to be. and we found next to it, an area that would make a great mixed crag if bolts were added to the tops. Anyone in the area have a power-drill? . Possible Fa of a great mixed route we named The Public Option. 30m-WI3 M4. Super Fun Day! Gear Notes: 2 kb's for the mixed route. 1 rope for everything Approach Notes: Follow any trail, they all lead to the river
  9. I know you are out there. Lets get some ice this weekend. Banks or what else is out there?
  10. Wow, long term project send-bots!
  11. Way cool to see this area get some love. I congadulate you and look forward to more reports!
  12. Mongo for me was the route that I undersold as a classic. It was truly amazing as a climb and experience. It would be very cool to see it repeated someday, but given the remoteness, not a very realistic expectation?

  15. Wow , its Johns first birthday! He is a big boy now. Happies!
  16. I climbed a bit with Alan in the early eighties. He did things that would have occurred anyways. He was a great guy , and deserves much credit for todays sport scene here. Trad for that matter as well. Good memories and stories there. He was a big influence in my early climbing career.

    we suck

We suck? Check where you live. Really though, We have a lot going for us here that competes within in our lifestyles. I consider myself in a completely different sport. One more closely linked with what our locale offers. You are right that few here have the combination of time, $, drive, weather and crags to pull such feats. You want amazing sporto numbers? You move to Arco. Smith ,etc
  21. McGown Did lead the first pitch, it free while drunk after a wedding. 5.11d. We then finished the route the next day.
  22. Nice Vino. Headed there myself soon!
  23. YES!!
  24. Damn, Will do. Crime seems to be on the rise here in the area.
