  1. Oh God, I don't know why you make me want to do stupid shit like this but please don't kill me today.
  2. Thats today!
  3. Gumby-Zebra-Zion-Lions Chair, get above the masses. Hemp Liberation, never a line. Opening Ceremonies, unique feature. Rare Earth, perfect 10a slab God Forsaken Land, 2 points of aid, so what? All the 11's at middle wall of the cave (Tieton) Penelope's Walk, 5.4 with overhanging fist crack!
  4. Has lots of snow, Only the heads of thistles sticking up in the bowl as of yesterday. Precip changed to snow at about 4000'. Trail hits snow well before you leave the trees.
  5. I'd guess they got lost. Why get bent over a couple biners?
  6. Willy's 12 a one move wonder you can bypass if your'e tall enough.
  7. Thanks for recommending this. I had never climbed this till yeaterday. What a great pitch! Render me weightless... Please!
  8. Sorry, not why I climb.
  9. Hows it look down there, Off?
  10. Lets hope that this wednesday isn't the last. As the weather looks like it may be going to get a bit damper soon y'all better git on down this week!
  11. I built a house designed by an engineer once, what a mess that was, architects are bad enough. Have had much better luck with house designers, AKA self proclaimed engineers. BTW stealing is lame
  12. I've built a few cracks in climbing walls with 6' lengths of 4x6 ripped along a symmetrical pattern with a dull sawzall. The sawzall follows the grain somewhat and the angle changes a bit. Flip one side top for bottom and you'll have a variable width crack. One side (of the pair) is usually flaring and the other side bomber. Block it at top and bottom, screw thru the plywood and rout it out. If you make it hand width you may want to cover the back to prevent reaching thru and crimping the back.
  13. Bolts near easily protectable features = lame. Rap chains in an area like Leavenworth where trails are in a constant state of erosion are often a good thing. The length and complexity of any walkoff as well as solidness of the terrain are factors to consider. The whole climbing world does not have a paved trail down from the top.
  14. Got some fresh meat lined up for tomorrow Hope you'll be able to climb with us Off.
  15. Would rerouting the road to go right to the edge of the cliff be any more dangerous than throwing crap off the top?
  16. Actually I did remove a giant loose flake one day a couple years ago right above that belay. But thats another story... I figured the bolt out left was to facilitate the switchover of leads as that position would be a bit awkward without it. No way I'd trust it as a single point but as part of the belay it seems fine.
  17. bolt bodies on the Rawls are grade 5 steel making them effectively as strong as a normal 3/8" bolt shaft. Attn Geeks and Nerds: We need to confirm/deny this pls
  18. First bolt goes by - Fuck! I shoulda clipped it! Second bolt goes by - brace for impact. Third bolt goes by - what the fuck? Fourth bolt goes by - AAAAHHH!!! Whack, end of fall, only banged one ankle Not all climbs at the Tieton have good ledges at the top.

Don't let the personalities get to ya Mattp. You're one of the reasons many of us logon and wade thru all the garbage here.
  20. I almost got pogged roping up for tempitchewus about 5 years ago. It started with a few softly floating empty beer cans. No biggie we thought till I heard something big cutting air and I dove to the base of the wall a second before a stump exploded where I was sitting. Needless to say we bailed. I had heard prior to that day that shit raining down accounted for the routes name but had got on it a couple times before without incident. Haven't had any trouble any where else up there.
  21. Damn! Did they take down the rope swing... er flagpole next to front steps of the capitol too?
  22. C'mon Pete theres lots of Boulders behind Freddy's on So. Commercial. Well there were 35 years ago anyway.
  23. Did she have large breasts? I've always thought well-endowed ladies tended to be more maternal.
  24. Until you lose a child you don't know how you will handle it. And I doubt Park personnel were any nicer to them than they are to any other climbers. I don't condone this suit but I can't blame the parents.
  25. Thats what I like about women : they taught me the best defense is a good offense! (sorry)
