  1. Dwayner.....I bet I know what you were doing last night 9/16 between 9:00p.m. and 10:00p.m. What did you think of that? Was it a hoax for public hype?
  2. There are some east facing walls near the headwaters of the Sultan River that have never been touched. But I bet the rock is crap. I know the approach is crap.
  3. I was impressed by the east face of Golden Horn (about 900 feet). I have no idea if anybody has climbed it.
  4. I did it last year at this time. No ice axe needed. I took running shoes the whole way. I did in one day with my partner. Car to car. [ 09-13-2002, 09:13 AM: Message edited by: Stefan ]

Sure we have the richest poor in the world. I have seen it. I was just trying to show that a community anywhere in the world will have poor/rich/middle class regardless of how hard people work or how much education they have. Most people are not poor by their own choice no matter where you live in the world. Most people haven't had the opportunities or don't have access to monetary capital. I believe most people want to work hard. Only a few people are truly lazy......
  9. There are poor people in the San Francisco area. Read the newspaper. They even have college degreees. They were in the "internet" era and I bet they were worked their asses off. 18. Hey Mike, I never see horses either in MRNP. In fact I have NEVER seen horses or horse trailers. It is just a rule that doesn't make sense to me. I remember seeing this guy wanting to take his dog with him in the middle of January at Paradise--he was going cross country skiing. Snow was at about 8 or 9 feet deep. A ranger came to him and said his dog couldn't leave his car. The guy even had a leash on his dog. Was the dog going to scare off wildlife??? I don't think so.... I will send something to the superintendant. Maybe if I get my lazy ass off of cc.com......
  19. I agree about talking to the superintendant. I would like to know Mike Gauthier's opinion on the subject. Dogs chasing wildlife? Not with a leash on! [ 09-04-2002, 04:30 PM: Message edited by: Stefan ]
  20. Mike Gauthier I have a problem with a rule in MRNP! Dogs are not allowed, but horses are allowed on trails. That seems bassackwards to me! Horses leave A LOT of dung--more than dogs. And horses are more intimidating that dogs on leashes! [ 09-04-2002, 04:01 PM: Message edited by: Stefan ]
  21. I am not a bouldering person but there was a big slab I saw once on the SE side of Tunk Mountain or maybe it was Beehive mountain? I don't remember. You will definitely see it as you go east through the Tunk Valley north and east of Omak. Not Indian land, but maybe some private farmland you have to walk to get across. There is also some vertical walls right next to the highway that goes on the east side of the Okanagon river north of Omak. Quality of rock is unknown to me.
  22. Thanks for the info guys. Much appreciated!
  23. I am lazy and I do not want to rappel down to the Concord/Liberty Bell col, walk around, and then hike up to the Concord/Lexington col, so I ask this question: Can a person rappel down from Concord Tower to the Concord/Lexington col? If so does it take more than one double rope rappel? [ 08-30-2002, 11:05 AM: Message edited by: Stefan ]
  24. Coming down the standard route you only need a 50 meter rope at only one place.
  25. Oldest register known in this state is North Star as Mike Collins wrote earlier. Second oldest but in great shape is Agnes--or the peak right next to Agnes. It was placed in 1906 by Austin Post?? and is still there. Stefan [ 08-22-2002, 09:30 AM: Message edited by: Stefan ]
