It was 65 degrees for a high at Paradise on Monday. It was 48 degrees for a high at SeaTac airport on Monday the same day.

All you need to do is shut down Wal-Mart. The Chinese will then come crawling back to the U.S. to get back to the "luxury" lifestyle they have started to pick up on.

Yes, he is too busy for "spray" at the moment. I happen to know what he is doing. You should meet him. He's an interesting guy with a story to tell. I know him....he knows me....I took a month long course from him before....he also gets my trip reports...

Maybe Dwayner is doing something more important than spraying these days....maybe he is clipping his fingernails or taking out the fuzz out of his navel.

What about Afghanistan? Doesn't anybody remember Afghanistan?

I do not like the amount of power the president has. I say a new ammendment needs to be added. Instead of Congress enacting war....it needs to say something like: "The deployment of more than 500 troops in any single conflict needs to be 2/3 authorized by the Senate and the House" That way the president has some authorization on very little skirmishes and can be dealt with immediately, but when these skirmishes become very large then there should be more difficulty in exposing lives. It also would require more negotiation with other nations to help out in large conflicts.

I saw the discussion on PBS. I liked it. It appeared one time that Lowry got a little angry. How come there has never been apology by the Bush Administration? I remember when Reagan apologized for the Iran-Contra thing even though he never knew about it or authorized it. Apologizing for the actions of people who one supervises--a good manager.

Why do you think they have started putting tarps on the glaciers in certain European resorts? Some banks have started not giving loans to ski areas in Europe for new lifts becuase the banks fear future snowfall and the ski areas will not be able to pay the loans off.

Down. Lighter. Lasts longer. Leave it out of the stuff sack hanging in the closet or under your bed. Don't climb in rain. It's no fun.

In their second list they have "Jesus only" to be cast out of everyone. Doesn't that make them hypocrites. I have too many demons. I love the hernia as a demon!

Pat said thus: "And don't wonder why He hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for His help because he might not be there." Pat does not read the Bible, becuase the Bible says thus: John 15.16: You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide; so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. John 15.17: This I command you, to love one another.

Nothing beats reality.

I would generally think you are correct on this one.

I don't buy that argument. Why? European cities have always been more crowded on a denser per square kilometer area than most areas of the U.S. Higher denser areas in first world countries have always been more expensive, whereever you are in the world. I checked into this about 20 years ago. It was some stupid high school class on Europe vs US. It was cheaper to buy houses in the US when I did my little study. In addition, there are more social taxes going on in Europe inflating the price. Have you ever checked into the price of land in Switzerland? 100 year mortgages are common.
-
Compare ground footprint. Compare land costs. Simple math really. Um. If I was to think that, then building elevated highways would be cheaper than building on top of dirt. Elevated stuff costs money. That's why bridges are so expensive. I still would like to know why European cities do not have monorails, and have trains at low level instead. Maybe the Europeans know something we don't. After all they are more knowledgeable about mass transit than their American fools.
-
If that is true, why don't you see more monorails in Europe? All I see is trains, trains, trains.

My brother-in-law and his wife are leaving Nov 18 to Dec 4 to pick up twin Chinese daughters. Congratulations!

These are the thoughts behind the motivation to go to war in Iraq. Ideology. The paper was written in 1992...but the thoughts had evolved before then...they just had not been in paper form. That is why the administration was pushing for anything to go to war. 9/11 was the golden child for them. Yes, the paper was redrafted....but only due to political pressure. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/iraq/etc/wolf.html So who organized this whole fiasco? The Hawks. George Bush went along for the ride. No one understands how important Mr. Schultz's role was in this: "The second crucial, but little-known example of Shultz's importance is his role in putting together the team behind the Presidency of George W. Bush. According to author James Mann, who wrote the Rise of the Vulcans book about Bush's inner Cabinet, Shultz initiated a discussion with George W. in the Spring of 1998, whereby the future President sat down in Shultz's living room on the Stanford University campus, in order to be vetted (in effect) to run for President. At that meeting were Martin Anderson, the former advisor to both Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan; Abraham Sofaer, a former Shultz aide; John Cogan and John Taylor, two economics professors; and Stanford's provost, and Shultz protégé, Condoleezza Rice. After the "scholars" associated with the Hoover Institution indicated that they thought Bush would make a good Presidential choice, Bush invited Shultz, Rice, and Anderson down to Austin, Texas for a follow-up meeting in the Summer. Out of that meeting, which was joined by Dick Cheney and Paul Wolfowitz, came the public decision for Bush to run for President." http://www.larouchepub.com/other/2004/site_packages/econ_hitmen/3148shultz1.html I want to know how Iraq was discussed in these original meetings with George W. So why did George W decide to join? Wouldn't you join if Saddam was still in power but your daddy only got one term, and that good for nothing Clinton got two terms? And let's not forget this little motivator for George W.: "...in response to an American determination that Iraqi intelligence, under the command of President Saddam Hussein, had plotted to assassinate former President George Bush during Bush's ceremonial visit to Kuwait in mid-April 1993..." http://www.newyorker.com/archive/content?020930fr_archive02 If somebody's gonna take out your daddy, why not take out the person who ordered it?

Thank you Peter, for graciously conceding to our point that the alleged deceptive marketing practices committed by the Bush administration would, if true, lay low their justifications for this war. Okay, so there was lying by the administration. I have my reasons, but I want to hear yours. WHY did the Bush administration lie about going to Iraq? WHAT was their motivation? (if you have already said this, please point a link...)

Peter, How do you reconcile the difference between the U.S. owning and potentially using nuclear weapons as a "defense strategy", and North Korea also using the same explanation for their nuclear weapons? I remember when the U.S. did not want Pakistan or India to possess nuclear weapons either. When the U.S. found out about it, I think we were all kind of shocked....but now we live with it and it appears fine.

Thank you for informing that. I guess the Weissbeer in Germany is then comparable to our Hefeweizens here. But I distincly notice a very strong aftertaste with the Weissbeer. Very strong and very different from the Hefeweizen. I believe Erdinger was the most popular bottled Weissbeer I saw, but each little town had their own specialty brewery for which they were proud.

Even the rioters need to take a vacation break in France.
