A similar analogy can be made for climbers wanting to climb Denali. The price of flights for climbers into the Denali basecamp are kept low by tourists wanting flights around Denali. The "non-climbers" are helping the climbers. Now let's say the road remains at its current state. What is going to happen? The road will not see as many people, nor will the other trails connecting off the road will see as many people. What will happen is loss of trails becuase of lack of access becuase the "non-climbers" are not using these trails. There are more "non-climbers" than climbers using the trails. And I can tell you that only trails where people use them are being maintained--this is a fact. You need the "non-climbers" to help you out for trails. It would be a shame to let go of all the efforts of those who created the trails to go to waste. For example, I was up the Freezeout Creek drainage this past weekend. There are about 300 downed trees on that trail--probably has not been maintained in 15-20 years becuase of only the very first 300 yards of trail are wiped out. It is a shame to see the efforts for those that created the Freezeout trail go to waste. Eliminating a road or a trail is like chopping bolts on established routes.

somebody was able to drive the road last week...but they did not climb static point...just meandering. http://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20111&highlight=Spada

parenting and being a father or mother aint difficult folks. It is work, but most of you have it in your heads becuase of the innateness of the skills. how do I know this? 99% of the world is good....and we all had parents....sometimes one...sometimes two... $100+K peshaw. Not everybody can be a teacher. Not everybody can be a TS dude. There are a lot of people who have chosen to be a mother though....

I would support privatization of toll roads only if I saw a reduction in my taxation dollars. Driving is not right. It is a privilege, and toll roads means I could vote with my dollar. But if I saw no reduction in tax dollars then I would be pissed.

I take the sounder train sometimes. Fricken cool. Always on time. Always. Minimal stops. There is absolutely no congestion that it runs into. I agree light rail should have stopped at Southcenter. Put a park and ride there, and you would see a larger jump in people using the light rail than what they are planning. Park and rides are the thing for America (not as in Europe) for transportation issues. It is a mix of car and mass transit.

OHHHH! You robbed me! I was gonna try this peak soon! -
These rules vary by state. They are close to each other....don't know the rules in this state. Sometimes, all you have to be is 16 for the legal age of consent.

B. But make sure you limit yourself to the time. You could be asking yourself in 5 years...."why haven't I moved?"

Thanks, I did not know they were considering moving the road much more uphill. At least there is some progress on changing the road.

I love the fake grafitti on the wall he is climbing. It makes the stuff rad.

I don't think this bill will change the Index Galena road. I think the road is under the county supervision. However, this bill may affect Jack's Pass and the current snowplowing going on for the inholders of Galena. Don't know what will happen in the summer if a gate goes up...or if there will be a gate.

Get a job in Bellingham. Get a house in Bellingham. This way you are close to the BC Coast Mountains, and the NCNP. Make climbing your priority. Screw Seattle. and Portland too.

It's times like these when I ask, "What would Brittany do?"

Leg fracture! Ouch! I am happy they got out!

I remember in my city that spiked heals were illegal. The city never enforced it. The only reason was to cover the city's butt if in case somebody with spiked heals stepped in a crack and broke their ankles. The city would not be liable. Maybe this is the same case. The government knows it cannot enforce MLUs, but in some way it is covering it's butt becuase search and rescue falls under the county's responsibility.

Not terribly far from a trail, but a whole lotta miles from a road....but still in the Bailey Range area....I don't know if they are "officially" in the Bailey Range. My vote is for Mt. Barnes. or peak 6130. Peak 6130T

I believe the motivation for this HPV vaccine was to save money for the state in the long run for medical expenses.

Thanks for the advice. Will do. Peace.

What about Mt. Bachelor? If this wording passes, then those climbing Mt. Bachelor will need some electronic device. OI!
