one person I estimate is over 200lbs. About the 5th time he went out he told me the decking starting tearing away from the snowshoe. It happened when he was out. It pissed him off from the money he spent. The other person is probably 180. same story. But I think it was half way through the season and he was out maybe 10 times in my estimate. This person now goes by the plastic denali ascents which I use too. I had the first year of the denali ascents they came out....and they finally broke last year....so about 7 years? and I am a hard core user.

my opinion. anyone over 180lbs should not get MSR Lightning shoes. I have seen happy people that are small use them and swear by them. But I have seen two big people use them and have had nothing but trouble. I hope you aint above 180lbs.

I found through many jackets that my repellancy last longer if I do not wash it. It does not matter what techno repellancy anybody tries to sell me. The less I wash a jacket, the more repellancy lasts longer. But I do have to say that the trick to washing less is to stay cleaner.

If you looked closer and read the contracts, the resorts cannot disallow people on the property whatever they do, unless it endangers other people. Why? The ski resorts are all leasing the land from the National Forest Service. The land is public land. The patrollers can tell you what they want. You can do whatever you want outside of the leased land. It's your life.

For me its the top of the manhood, and so I have gotten used to it. Even if I wear rainpants over my padded shorts I still get the same darned effect.

I have a 100oz bladder. On single day outings I put in 2 cans of frozen concentrate Apple Juice and then load the rest with water. Total calories = 1400. Higher than any gatorade or cytomax combo I have found. In addition, two frozen concentrates are equal to $1.76 (Winco) and I have found that is cheaper than gatorade or cytomax. In addition, the only ingredient is: concentrated apple juice: No chemicals whatsoever. Cheaper. More calories. No chemicals.

Archy: I am glad the government helps out in mountain rescues. Most of the time a rescue is issued becuase of poor judgement. So I try to keep the same philosophy. Most of those people who have the bad loans did not want to be in this same predicament either. I am sure most feel terrible. They made poor judgement. And although it takes my money or reduces my equity I realize I live in a world where others and myself make poor judgements all the time. I have a hard time with New Orleans. I think New Orleans should be abandoned becuase of the geographic location--Mother Nature is going to win the battle. But what do I do?

If you do "cascade climbers" it sounds as if he is wooing you. pretty cool

I agree. I do think the Yakima detour is the best--becuase other people are thinking exactly like you are. Especially the truckers where time and distance is money.
