  1. i ordered one this winter but it ended up being too big for me and i had to sell it. :-( it seems to have a lot of cool features without looking too pretentious. great for day touring but not big enough for much more. ps - the backcountry ski pack i really want (and know will fit me) is the osprey switch 25. w00t w00t!
  2. because it's spring. and they're only guessing.
  3. i like the petzl ecrin roc. it's a little on the heavy side, but the benefits outweigh that. it has way more fit adjustability than a foam-molded helmet and is easy to adjust on the fly for a good fit regardelss of whether you want to wear a hat or not. (it also works with high ponytails for the long-haired gals and hippies in the crowd - yay!) it's beefy and will stand up to much abuse, and it's also one of the more comfortable climbing helmets i've ever tried.
  4. what a bunch of wankers. way to go, carolyn!
  5. let me know next time you're coming up to boulder, boulder boy. :-)
  6. you say that like spanking is a bad thing.
  7. karma ... funny shit sometimes.
  8. i thought a flash was a clean first climb regardless of whether you were leading it or following it. is there a different word for that?
  9. yeah, and width. i find even the "small" hipbelts to not be small enough sometimes. but i'm also a bit shorter than your lady friend. what kind of approach pack are you looking for?
  10. nice, seth! now that's my kind of "boulder"!
  11. i love it when i learn something new and possibly useful!
  12. whistler was over quite some time ago. i mean, there is still snow but not much and that skiing left lots to be desired. i went up once after waddington and it wasn't even really worth the time it took to ride the gondola. time to switch seasons ...
  13. well, i just moved to town last night, so when i wasn't here working i wasn't here. but i'm here now, so ... let's get the granite party started.
  14. looking for a climbing partner. nothing scary since it's my first time back on rock since october. i'll check pm's tomorrow some time.
  15. if you want to hit rock in squamish, pm me some time. weekdays this month.
  16. i think that's what fred said. people who steal stuff are so suck!!! hopefully what goes around comes around ...
  17. another vote for revivex.
  18. i'll likely be around during that time and would probably be up for joining you for some climbing. pm me closer to then ... or just stop by valhalla pure that first weekend you're in town and say hi.
  19. don't worry about it; it's an easy mistake. i'm just glad to hear that the product holds [you] up! i think they're great ...
  20. yeah; just stay out of the feathers.
  21. not entirely true. saturated cracks might take a while, but some good wind and sun can dry things out fairly quickly.
  22. yes. several nice "sporty" overhanging routes a little ways north of squamish proper. (just ask rumr. )
  23. it's pretty danged close. not walking distance but a short drive. you will definitely get concert-goers camping and climbing at the coulee.
  24. wrong thread, buddy! i'll be here and happy to join a pub club after work. hint for toaster's french toast: share with a friend!
