  4. Actually, you can buy all of the "high-tech" materials Gore-Tex, Polartec and all that can be found easily, but it is very expensive to buy 5 yards of Gore-Tex, fleece is a little cheaper. I once made a fleece jacket from Polartec I bought in Seattle, worked pretty good, but I don't think that I could sew up and heat tape a goretex jacket....
  5. Yeah, Although I don't think I l'll make it to monroe...
  6. To all that I have offende using foul language. I can't seem to stop...Sorry RURP, and all the others I have referred to as F-ing this or that.
  7. another vote for vertical limit, woo hoo! that is the Schiznit! Exactly the way I climb!
  8. Actually spoke to one of Dan Larson's "friends" the other day. Said Dan was an ok guy, I think so too, but I'm gonna reserve my judgement for the Pub Club that Dan attends. Keep climbin' Dan! Even though you suck.
  9. It seems that you can't get away from the "machine" of money makin' clothing companies. I don't really care what brand I wear. I like Mtn. HW it fits me pretty good and is usually available for 50-75% off at Moutain Gear. If it works, is a good deal then I'll generally wear it. And if you really feel strondly about big name clothing, hell buy a sewing machine and start workin' maybe in 20 years someone will be callin' you a sell out. And while I'm on it, ponder this: Sell out = Success? I don't know.
  10. I've never carried Bear spray. I've hiked throught the olympics many times and seen lots of bears. Not one ever even gave me a second glance, although in glacier, it's a good idea to have something, grizzlies are way more territorial and I've seen a few get agitated, but never been bothered, just kinda stood my ground until the bear got bored and sauntered off.
  11. Well, I can't stand all the logos all over my cams, I usually grind them off. And what's up with the metolious deal, bunch a money grubbin corporate bastards. I'll use my home made balsa wood blocks with baling twine. I have a couple of WC friends, they work ok but don't have the flash of the high buck stuff...
  12. did I mention that the temperature went to 127!!! I know the Alki gets hot, but whoa.
  13. I got the Suunto too. I works pretty good, the altimiter is a little messy below about 1500ft, but otherwise it's great. Although my first one malfunctioned, claiming I was at an altitude of 21,000 feet while sitting in the Alki Tavern...And REI generously replaced it witha spanking new one two years ago...I guess that one was one of the first to be produced... I like it. sean
  14. I've become "addicted" to Red Bull and Jeager, although the Red Bull is stricktly optional. And I will always stand by a good Irish stout (although heavy) or the rugged Jim Beam traveler.
  15. I'm ok with ballard, but I always like downtown, cause I'm lazy, and if Dave P is gonna be around he prefers to be closer to the ferry dock. I'm pretty open to suggestions...Even Mercer Island would be cool... And I NEED beer this week!

  17. Hey I just got a Paclite jacket, cheap. This thing is bitchin'! But, I was wondering about the durability, has anyone had any longer term experience... It still seems a little flimsy...
  18. who's JP patches? Move? Groove! is more like it....
  19. Hey, they climb like cavey, pullin' on bolts and schlepin' thier way up...
  20. Access issues at Hidalga Falls Texas for the next interview with Stephen Daniels... should be cool stuff.
  21. Erik, I didn't say in a row...besides I'm poor. I can't believe that I did not list beer as an interest! I love beer...alot. If anyone needs a ride from downtown or west seattle, I can help out. if not I'll see y'all around 6ish.
  22. I guess I should make it...I am having trouble adjusting to the five day work week....Daily runs (jogging) icky, making me tired...NEED BEER!!!
  23. some wands are held for charity, and some for fancy dress. but when they're held for pleasure, they're the wands that I like best.
