I had a pair of couliors. Loved 'em. they were like crampon compatible fuzzy bunny slippers. the only compaint was they were a wee bit on the soft side. My fiance (whoa I've never typed that) has a pair of the Verglas, they seem to be much stiffer and maybe not as comfortable as mine were. Oh yeah, mine didn't last too long though, I would expect a mountaineering boot to last a little longer that 3 years, the shank finally broke. I got a pair of Makalus. Overall I think they're pretty good boots.

I have a 3 meter probe that stashes in my shovel, its a bit heavy, but worth it in the back couuntry. My buddy has a pair of the BD flick lock poles, they're pretty neat in that they can be put togethter to form a probe (i'm not sure what the length is though.) At least that way if you normally have poles then there is no extra weight!

I don't know, I think that it was cool of the North Face guys to let us know whats up and when they have events that we might be interested in. I've stopped by there several times looking for long Ice screws and they are always out, someday I'll probably get them somewhere else anyway, but it's convenient for me when I can't go to FF, REI or Jim's shop. I even stopped by and invited them to the climbing fest, they were cool, and had to work the weekend, but I'm sure they climb on the weekdays when I have to work. I'm sure it is less crowded and I for one am jealous. Thanks for the update North Face guy's I for one appreciate them. As for TNF Avalanche, I'm sure everyone thinks thats a joke. just my opinion, sean

Here's the deal as I see it. I got the same email cavey did,1.) I'm surprised by "pauls" lack of response, 2.) I'm surprised by the lack of organization, as opposed to last years. and 3.) the fact that all the biggies will be at Ouray. I hope it goes on and goes well, but I might be headin' to CO. sean

I haven't had any reports, but assuming the large quantities of snow that have fallen over the past couple of days, I wouldn't try to go anywhere on Adam until the snow consolidates a little more... althought that's just me. Oh yeah and take a beacon and a friend if you go.

I was up a schwietzer over Turkey day, my family has a place up there, and I hope to get up ther for xmas and new years... I grew up skiing there every weekend, riding the ski bus from cda baby....
