TeleRoss Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 The rock in the runnels there is difficult to find a good anchor. I remember one of my rap anchors being extremely frightening, but somehow held up. Sounds like you guys had quite the adventure! Glad everyone is ok. Sick ski! Quote
telemarker Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 Thanks Ross! I was hoping you'd show up. I've never met you, but now have a deep appreciation for your pioneering descent. Well done! Quote
mmeyers Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 When people are skiing shit I don't even want to climb, I just assume it is a ripple in the universe. But for sure. what he said Quote

You mean Dragontailish descent, they started from the shoulder above Asgard Pass, not the summit. Still, really nice aerial shots of the NE Buttress area, thanks for posting that up. Hey, thanks to the OP for posting this TR, great stuff. Quote
olyclimber Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 (edited) Thanks for sharing your experience telemarker...that was quite a story! Glad you guys are ok. I love how different your detailed report is compared to your initial description! Edited February 13, 2013 by olyclimber Quote

Rad Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Somehow just seeing this now. The TAY story is an AMAZING report of an amazing achievement. The meat of the story is all in the runnels, so this is just as much an alpine story as a skiing story. TWO failed anchors at night on a long steep route a long way from the road and no serious consequences? Your guardian angels were definitely working overtime. Glad you came out to tell the story. 2.5 min of paragliding isn't remotely in the same league IMHO. Quote

Reading it again seems like it happened a few years ago, although every time I bump my fingertip against the rock, it's a sharp reminder of the ordeal. I wonder how long frostbitten digits take to lose that sensitivity? Quote
