Tyson.g Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Trip: Index - Date: 2/25/2012 Trip Report: Headed out to do some aid cragging over the weekend and hang out with a couple of buddies. I do not know what the route is except sportos can crank it and it is way too hard for me to climb without aid, and a lot of it. This was fun practice for an aid noob like myself to have bolts right there to protect me and allow me to experiment with placements. Here are some pics: RF Says "I dunno about MRE omelettes" The Line Gear Notes: I brought a ton. 6 pack of beer. Approach Notes: Left the lower town wall on a trail leaving Ultrabrutal and headed steeply up and right. Quote
genepires Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 looks like a good time. what is the deal with the 6th photo? Quote
Tyson.g Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 It was fun indeed. The weather was way better than I expected. The 6th photo? I was drunk and shooting from bed. Quote

Tyson.g Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 I only counted my own beers. And I only counted liquids. Quote

denalidave Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Step 1 - smuggle beers in unsuspecting partner's pack(s). Step 2 - offer all involved a 24 can or two (no bottles). Step 3 - "lighten the load" en-route. Step 4 - Retreat, spray, then repeat. Quote
Off_White Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Looks like someone downloaded that tilt-shift software from Giveaway Of The Day recently... Quote
Tyson.g Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 kinda, trying out the new point and shoot with all the funkadelic settings. Quote
Tyson.g Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 (edited) Step 1 - smuggle beers in unsuspecting partner's pack(s). Step 2 - offer all involved a 24 can or two (no bottles). Step 3 - "lighten the load" en-route. Step 4 - Retreat, spray, then repeat. We work for our suds: Step 1) Everyone carries a minimum of 6 beers (@ least 6oz preferably 22oz) Step 2) Only good (high test) quality beer. Step 3) ONE trail beer. Step 4) Climb as hard as you can for as long as possible. Being an old fat man that is usual taken care of in short order. Step 5) Drink all beer in continous succession until you sleep so hard that Thors hammer (partners snoring) itself will not wake you from your slumbers. Edited February 29, 2012 by Tyson.g Quote

el jefe Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Attractive Nuisance: Attractive Nuisance actually, the route tyson et al are climbing in these photos is "not sheer strength" (aka "la bamba roof"). "attractive nuisance" is the line to the left with the red quickdraw hanging on it. Quote
