JayB Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 i also think, jb, that had the fellow in spokane been an ayrab, or any other "minority", then yes, the media response would have been different. does this mean an active, conscious conspiracy? i'm not so sure about that part. I found the contrast between the reflexive response to the Arizona shootings and the Ft. Hood shootings to be quite interesting. Quote
Kimmo Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 How can there be no motion toward publishing any of it for 18 hrs at Drudge and the NYT without their being conscious of it? I don't know but I don't believe this kind of decision is haphazard. as a fly on the wall, listening to the morning (or evening, or whenever) briefings at NYT or drudge or wherever, what do you suppose you would have heard? j_b Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I'd assume that what is verbalized is very different from one outfit to another but there is little doubt that it is a conscious omission by those who decide what is published whether it is justified by some kind of rationalization, however thin it may be in the case of outlets that hype any of those events, even when they are only rumors, like Drudge. Kimmo Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 what do you think underlies the "rationalizations"? Quote
Fairweather Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Anyone notice that j_b and Prole have mentioned narry a peep about the Moscow islomobomber? This conspiracy of omission requires immediate mandates and heavy-handed regulation. They must be forced to speak! Quote
billcoe Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 That one was Activisions fault. "Call of Duty" should be banned they say. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/01/russian-state-media-assails-activision-call-duty-wake-airport-terrorist-attack/ Here's another similar (older) thing in Russia, 8 Jews stabbed "because" kid was addicted to playing "Postal". http://www.cheatcc.com/ccc_newsserver/Article.aspx?PostID=95464 Quote
G-spotter Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 It's possibly more well-supported by the evidence that Moscow maintains war in Caucasus and associated terrorist groups and their bombings as convenient excuse for internal crackdowns than that Washington does the same with various terror groups... Huh? Well, that and it's NOT Spokane. In either case, as the newz article notes we have already learned that the Moscow bombing was the video games fault. Not Moscow Idaho jb, or as you say we would have heard more of it I'm sure. Now lets all continue on associating the tea party with the boogie man like Tvrash up there. Have fun! Regards to all Quote

prole Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Lawmaker condemns question about shooting Obama WASHINGTON – A Georgia Republican said Friday he didn't immediately condemn a constituent who asked about assassinating President Barack Obama because he was stunned by the question and didn't want to dignify it with a response. Rep. Paul Broun, a conservative who has harshly criticized the president, confirmed that at a town hall event in Oglethorpe County, Ga., on Tuesday a man asked, "Who's going to shoot Obama?" ...Broun, a doctor from Athens in his third congressional term, routinely calls Obama a socialist and said shortly after Obama's election in 2008 that he feared the president would establish a Gestapo-like security force to impose a Marxist dictatorship.
