OlympicMtnBoy Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Nice, is this your earlier unfinished line or another one? Quote
johnkelley Posted December 22, 2010 Author Posted December 22, 2010 Two different lines about a half mile apart. Quote

genepires Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 awesome looking place. Could you please describe where this peak is? How do you get into there? Quote

wfinley Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Nice! What John isn't mentioning is that temps in town have hovered around 0 for about a week! Brrr! Where is this in reference to Malignant Gully? genepires -- this is a link to the Benign peak area. Quote
yeoman Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 oh man, that looks so friggen sweet. nice job. Quote
chubler Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Thanks for the fix - very nice! How much time approach vs. climb vs. descent throughout the 36 hours? Quote
johnkelley Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 It's to the right. The top is visible on the far right hand side of your photo. What looks like the bottom right hand side of Beneign Peak in your pic is the other side of Rumble. The line in the other thread is clearly visible to the left of Malignant. Alot more snow in your photo. Quote
wfinley Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Yeah - photo was taken last April; there was a lot of snow in that valley last spring. The above was taken from somewhere on Raina --- here's a better one taken from somewhere on Peeking. Quote
johnkelley Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 Finley, you should go get the 2nd ascent. It's good right now. The crux is the second pitch. Ben's right in the middle of it in the last photo. After that it's a 3,000ft grade 3 cruise to the top. Quote
JasonG Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Has that prominent ramp/gully been skied? Is this the Malignant gully you are referring to? Quote
wfinley Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Has that prominent ramp/gully been skied? Is this the Malignant gully you are referring to? Yes - the obvious ramp is Malignant Gully. It's probably been skied. Lots of big descents back there if you take the time to get to them. Quote
