Opponents of Arizona's new anti-immigrant law are calling for a boycott of the state's products - including the popular Arizona Iced Tea.

The problem: Arizona Iced Tea is actually brewed in New York.

Online, misguided tea fans vowed to switch to Lipton or Snapple.

"Dear Arizona: If you don't change your immigration policy, I will have to stop drinking your enjoyable brand of iced tea," Twittered Jody Beth in Los Angeles.

"It is the drink of fascists," wrote Travis Nichols in Chicago.

The company did not return messages asking if they planned to set the public straight.

Founded in Brooklyn in 1992, the firm was based in Queens before moving into a new $35 million headquarters in Nassau County last year.

uhhh, take a cleansing breath Off....could just be and attempt at satire there.....

BTW, until we get it figured out weather Arizona should be enforcing the federal laws like they say this is all they are doing, I'm not going to the Grand Canyon and staying home eating my Freedom Fries. I wasn't going there anyway of course.

Buying Wired Bliss cams is fine as they are not part of the boycott, however.

Once again we can take the exact measure of the so-called "small government" crowd that want to insert a probe up your rectum. Freakin jack-booted hypocrites.

Bill, I've got a bunch of friends in different tribes, some of them Navajo, none of whom would be very amused by that either. Its just an observation I've made, not particularly angry about it. If you don't tell people that their stuff isn't funny, how else are they going to know?

are you telling us that the people behind this Arizona law aren't also "small government" types?

I have no idea, I haven't even read the law like you have.

As far as the big gov't thing, the Obama admin are spending $55,000,000,000 (billion) on security so they probably are at least keeping an eye on you and your kind for that kind of money I'd bet. Of course, most of that money is getting borrowed from the Chinese, so that you can spend the rest of your lifetime paying extra taxes and digging out of that hole. Congrats! Oh, you really don't get security for that 55 billion either, as terrorists can pretty much still cross the Mexican or Canadian border. With more difficulty though.

All I know for sure, is that the border states have been screeching like zombie harpies for well over 10-15 years asking the feds to address this issue and coincidentally, here is today's news for your further consideration and edjumacation:

"Obama: Congress may not tackle immigration soon

Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says there "may not be an appetite" in Congress to deal with immigration immediately after going through a tough legislative year.

With energy legislation on the table and midterm elections approaching, Obama said Wednesday he didn't want to force an immigration bill through Congress "just for the sake of politics." Still, he said discussions on the issue must move forward in a way that can garner the support of the American people.

"We've gone though a very tough year and I've been working Congress very hard, so I know there may not be an appetite immediately to dive into another controversial issue," the president told reporters aboard Air Force One returning with him to Washington from a Midwest trip.

The issue of immigration bubbled to the surface in recent weeks after Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed a controversial bill into law requiring local and state law enforcement to question people about their immigration status if there's reason to suspect they're in the country illegally. The law also makes it a state crime to be in the U.S. illegally.

Obama has sharply criticized the law, asking the Justice Department to look into whether it violates civil rights. On Wednesday, he said he understands the frustrations of people in Arizona who are faced with thousands of immigrants coming into their state illegally, but he said the state's new immigration law would only end up polarizing the debate over reform.

"What I think is a mistake is when we start having local law enforcement officials given the power to stop people on the suspicions that they may be undocumented workers," Obama told reporters. "That carries a great amount of risk."

The president said that while he believed he could get a majority of Democrats to support immigration reform, he still needs help from Republicans.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid had talked about moving immigration ahead of climate change legislation, a suggestion that splintered bipartisan support for the climate bill. Then Reid said Tuesday he was willing to bring up climate change legislation ahead of an immigration bill, but Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., was still angry that Reid considered putting off the climate bill.

Reid said the long-delayed climate bill "is much further down the road in terms of a product" than the immigration measure, which remains unwritten.

An immigration proposal by three Democratic senators calls for more federal enforcement agents and other border security-tightening benchmarks before illegal immigrants could become legal U.S. residents, according to a draft of the legislation obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press. The bill is being developed by Reid of Nevada, Chuck Schumer of New York and Robert Menendez of New Jersey."

The spread of drug cartel violence is probably the biggest Mexican border issue.

We could, you know, work on our drug policies to address that issue, but that might be too direct and successful solution for a criminal justice system that wishes to continue expanding its so far very successful job creation engine.

I've noticed over the years that the Right, and this law was certainly championed by the same, always pushes a solution that degrades civil liberties and seldom, if ever, backs a solution that has even the remotest prayer of actually addressing the problem.

You have no idea? You can't tell whether the people who passed and promoted this law are the same who serenade us continuously about "small government"? Are you clueless, Bill?
