With Parry Murray getting on board today, we now have 32 Democratic Senators coming out in support of putting through health care reform by legislation, with a public option included, by using rules of budgetary reconciliation that requires only a simple majority vote.

With Democratic attempts to achieve bipartisanship with the Republicans, it's been a year of politicians saying one must lead or one must follow, while the public became increasingly annoyed.

Now, after the nation watched Republicans marching lock step with their pathetic just-say-no talking points during last week's summit meeting with the President, it's clear to a growing contingent of Democratic lawmakers that all that really remains for them to say about health care reform to the obstructionist party is GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY!

The only thing the Republican party understands is a leather boot heel in the face. Let's finally speak their language and give it to them. They've been begging for it for quite a few years now. America's well being and survival requires that the Republican party, in its current incarnation, go away. Let's not pretend any longer that this isn't an all out ideological war for the future well being of this country. They would, and have, done the same to us...in spades.

THat's rich coming from someone who cheered Bush's military adventurism that is responsible for the death of up to 1.5 millions innocents Iraqis even though he was told that it would happen.

Do you think Obama is going to push for it to happen?

I'm glad that they have given the bill some time and tried to get Republican support on the bill. Now that the Republicans have demonstrated that they aren't interested in passing any real health care reform, I'm glad the Dems have grown the cajones to pass it without them. There are a few sticky points in the bill as as, but the 95% that everybody agrees on shouldn't have to go down in flames over the fairly stupid 5% that remains.

Hitler 2 Forces His Agenda

"The meeting was a good opportunity to move past the usual rhetoric and sound bites that have come to characterize this debate and identify areas on which we agree and disagree," he wrote. "I left convinced that the Republican and Democratic approaches to health care have more in common than most people think."

GOP leaders were unsatisfied with Obama's concessions. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, said the president's ideas were little more than a few items "inadequately addressed in a 2,700-page bill."

Translation: Do it 100% our way or we'll shut it down.

Doesn't sound obstructionist at all...good thing we have the GOP to look out for the best interests of the country. They are the only ones who understand that we need a non-functioning government (aside from the military, of course) and everybody to fend for themselves.

Now 41 votes for the public option through reconciliation. Only 9 to go:

"We are 9 Senators away from victory, while the White House continues to act like these votes don't exist. It's time for both houses of Congress to commit to an up-or-down vote on the public option -- and to invite the White House to help lead or get out of the way," said Charles Chamberlain of Democracy for America, which has been pushing hard for the public option.

The rampantly growing big deal these days is health identity theft. Amazing that we could get a payday loan shark operation on every other street corner as a lasting legacy of the Bush administration, but somehow the nation can't afford health care for the same people we steal from.
