Couloir Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 6 7 8 9 = 24 You can add, subtract, multiply or divide any of the numbers ONCE. Ex: 2 3 4 5 = 24 is (5+4+3)2 = 24 Quote

KaskadskyjKozak Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 I had a teacher in jr. high who gave us this contest right after new year's day: using the numbers of the new year, exactly once and in order, and any math operators, find as many results as you can beginning with 0. Example: 2007 0 = 2*0*0*7 1 = 2^0 + (0*7) 2 = 2 + (0*0*7) 3 = 2 plustorial + (0*0*7) and so on. it gets hard quickly. some folks got up to a pretty high number (over a hundred) Quote

KaskadskyjKozak Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 i don't believe you 4 = 2 + 0 + 0 + floor (√ 7) 5 = 2 + 0 + 0 + ceiling (√ 7) 6 = 2 plustorial + 0 + 0 + ceiling (√ 7) 7 = 2*0 + 0 + 7 8 = 2^0 + 0 + 7 9 = 2 + 0 + 0 + 7 10 = 2 plustorial + 0 + 0 + 7 11 = floor √ 20) + 0 + 7 12 = ceiling (√ 20) + 0 + 7 and so on note: there are symbols for floor, and ceiling - just don't have time to look 'em up in UBBCode Quote
