  5. Ortovox F1 Focus Avalanche Transceiver, $90 This is an analog beacon operating on the international 457kHz standard. The beacon is in perfect working condition and shows only minor cosmetic wear due to the lettering fading on the front side. I am the original owner. I have never dropped or abused the unit. It has been in storage in a dry environment when not in use. I used it mainly for teaching avalanche rescue for a couple of days a year off and on for a few years, and occasional back-country snowshoe trips. The instruction manual can be found online. Use is fairly intuitive, as the unit gets louder and flashes more lights the closer you get to the victim. Practice makes perfect of course. This unit has never been buried and has only been worn under my shell during snowshoe trips. The lights, speakers, and harness straps are all in working order. ****** Links to the owner's manual: http://beaconreviews.com/transceivers/manuals/Ortovox-F1-Focus_2010-08.pdf http://www.avalanche-center.org/store/manuals/ortovox-f1-D-E.pdf ****** Cash only, please. Must be willing to pick the unit up in the Greenwood area. Thank you for your consideration.

I have this gear currently available here on the CascadeClimbers site: http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/1128693/Gear_for_Sale#Post1128693 I'll sell the chalk bag separately if you want (right now it's on one of the harnesses I'm selling). It's an Arc'Teryx and is in fairly good condition, $10. I have two ropes to sell, one is 9.5mm x 60 meters and the other is 9mm x 50 meters. I used the 9mm strictly for glacier climbing. 16. R&D newbie close call, anchors needed?

Yeah, but when you fail, don't go blaming the route...
  17. R&D newbie close call, anchors needed?

I think not climbing where you're not capable and not relying on the ingenuity of others would make it even more safe.
  18. Critical Mass Cyclists

I used to ride my bike to work every day. Now I'm going to drive one day a month, so I can run over CM'ers.

  24. Poo Thread

  25. Poo Thread

Well it's that and the fact you decided to single-handedly attempt to clean up spray by diluting it with talk about boring old climbing. I had to start talking about my favorite spray topic of all time as an antidote. Try it once, you'll like it, you'll want to do it more. We all poo RuMR. Don't be embarrassed. Thread drift. Now back to the poo. Focus.
