fenderfour
People shouldn't be allowed to hunt mushrooms like that and cost the taxpayers money for the rescue effort.

AlpineK
Mushroom hunting can be scary. I remember as a kid going mushroom hunting with my folks; while out looking for good eats these idiot hunters showed up and started blasting into the woods we were in. I'm no hunter, but I don't think blasting randomly into the woods is the kind of tactic that will get you a nice deer to eat.

rmncwrtr
From oregonlive.com The Clackamas County sheriff's office reports that Ruth Kathleen Thompson, 53, of Sandy, reported missing late Sunday night by a mushroom hunting companion, walked out on her own Monday morning to a home in the Rhododendren area. Thompson was last seen about 5 p.m. She was not carrying a cellphone nor did she have food or water, said sheriff's spokesman Jim Strovink. Searchers concentrated their efforts on U.S. Forest Service Road 1820, near Snowdon Road.

Choada_Boy
Pretty easy to get lost when you're randomly walking around in the woods while staring at the ground. I'm amazed she lived, despite not having either a cell phone or a hot Tauntaun abdomen.

dmuja
Hey, (not to sound too much like kevbone but...) I read on a bottle cap that there is this particular mushroom underground in Oregon that is like a couple miles square in size. Can someone confirm this is so? AlpineK
It's been a while, but I remember hearing that same story on the radio. It wasn't on a Paul Harvey show, so I don't know if it was true.
