Skeezix Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I'm was impressed with the guys tha did Olympus in a day last summer... Quote
Blake Posted August 23, 2007 Author Posted August 23, 2007 Spider seems doable from the Cascade Pass TRailhead. Sinister would be very difficult, and even going in from Stehekin, any of the Gunsights might be impossible. Quote

I'm not saying that I could do it, but I think that south Gunsight, by the south ridge could be quite possible for some people (when the trail is in). Quote
Jens Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Absolutely any peak in WA could be done in a day. -and- Every route in WA could be done in a day. -Certainly not be me though! Quote
lunger Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 bumblies have climbed Dome peak in < 24 hours. Quote
plexus Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Mox? Cathedral Peak? I think Jack can be done in a day. Quote
Couloir Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I'm was impressed with the guys tha did Olympus in a day last summer... Didn't OTH do it in 11+ hours? That seemed impressive. Â Linky Quote
goatboy Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I know that Jo'berg has been climbed many times in a day....but I also know that according to NPS, more people go overdue on that peak than any other which they track, by a full day or more.... so that may be a separate thread, peaks which frequently lead to overdue parties.... DanS Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 About the only peak I cannot see doing in a day would be Crowder and probably Pioneer. Quote
Adam13 Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 If you take into account non-standard routes wouldn't liberty ridge on rainier be pretty tough in a day, considering most people take about 2-3 days and then descend the DC anyway, maybe im crazy to think this but wouldn't that be pretty tough  -Boley Quote
pup_on_the_mountain Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Liberty Ridge doesn't even come close. I mean it is easily doable in a day. Heck, didn't Sky climb and ski it in a trip that took less than 24 hrs home-to-home two years back? From what I've read, I seem to remember that its usually the out-of-staters who tend to take a long time (>= 3 days), and in several cases, that is due to these teams planning their trip way ahead and still pushing through with their climb under less than perfect conditions. i_like_sun Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 There was that guy who climbed Olympus in like 11.5 hours round trip....... Â I USED to think a lot of mountains take more than a day, but now I think its just a matter of how hard you want to suffer. Quote
Cobra_Commander Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Lib ridge has been done by many people in a day. Quote
cynicalwoodsman Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I'm shootin' for Bunnyface at smith car to car in a day. IF I'm feelin' good I might even lead it! Quote
Cobra_Commander Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I could see pitch 1 of bunny going in a day but the 2nd pitch in a day? Quote
G-spotter Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Hell I can't even see getting through the lineup for Bunny face and on to the rock in a day. Quote
genepires Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 any peak can be done in a day when you use a heli to get in. Quote
AJScott Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 depends on your definition of a "day" -car to car with no bivy gear...anything is possible Quote
Adam13 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Ok ill admit i was way off base about Lib Ridge but i dont really think a ski descent can be counted for a timed ascent i know you have to carry your skis but u can ski a snow slope it would take an hour to descend in about 5-10 mins if that, very nice on the home to home in <24hrs that you mentioned though that is impressive. Quote
Jamin Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 I doubt anyone could do Dome in a day. 27 mi round trip with 10,000 vertical feet of elevation gain on bad trail and off-trail. Â Of course, someone will try to prove me wrong. Quote
