Are you kidding me?....Vick not necessarily guilty???

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/football/2020AP_FBN_Vick_NAACP.html

An NAACP leader said Michael Vick should be allowed to return to the NFL, preferably the Atlanta Falcons, after serving his sentence for his role in a dogfighting operation.

"As a society, we should aid in his rehabilitation and welcome a new Michael Vick back into the community without a permanent loss of his career in football," said R.L. White, president of the group's Atlanta chapter. "We further ask the NFL, Falcons, and the sponsors not to permanently ban Mr. Vick from his ability to bring hours of enjoyment to fans all over this country."......

White said the Atlanta chapter supports Vick's decision to accept a plea bargain if it's in his best interest, but he questioned the credibility of Vick's co-defendants, saying an admission of guilt might be more about cutting losses than the truth.

"At this point, you're not looking at guilt or innocence," White said, referring to the possible harsher sentence Vick could have received had he taken his case to trial and been found guilty. "You're thinking, 'What I better do is cut my losses and take a plea.' But if he saw this as the best thing to do at this

Yeah, im pretty pissed off about the whole situation too!!! but after Vick is released from prison, he will need to get a job just like any other ex-con. the only rule he broke under the NFL's charter is gambling. I think he should be punished for the animal cruelty by the law, the NFL should punish him for the gambling.

Like it or not, Vick is part of a brand. That brand is the NFL and the team he played for. They have a business plan and marketing to think about before letting Vick back.

Abusing animals is way bad PR. THere really aren't many worse options. Pedohpilia, robbing old people...

"White said he does not support dogfighting and that he considers it as bad as hunting.

"His crime is, it was a dog," White said.

No different than hunting.....I have many friends that finish off their stag with electrocution rather waste another bullet....

If playing ball is what matters most to him, then he should be allowed to do so....after agreeing to give 80% of his income to animal shelters.

If getting rich and living the NBA lifestyle is what he cares about, then he should not be allowed to return.

One word: Guantanamo.

Vick is pleading guilty to a plea bargain, not being 'proven guilty without a trial'. He could have had his day in court had he wanted it. He, not the state, chose not to.

But according to the NAACP, he's not necessarily guilty, and only guilty of hunting the wrong animal.....

Maybe he should have thought of how much he liked playing football before he took up torturing dogs as a hobby? Who the hell cares what matters to him?

Bingo....!!!!!

I'm sure he's allowed to. Just who's going to hire him now (or when he gets out)?

Everyone has the chance to do what they want after they have served their punishment.

Unfortunately for him, the issue with the NFL really is not the dogfighting...it is the gambling. Which is sad to say that gambling has more precedent over dogfighting...

so for consistancy sake - do you wanna let vick go or keep the gitmos locked up??

For decency's sake - everyone should get their day in court to determine guilt or innocence. That's a basic human rights principle that the U.S. has shamefully ignored with regards to its detainees in the War on Terror. Vick, by his own admission, is guilty and therefore subject to punishment. The detainees at Guantanamo have not been afforded any means by which to establish their guilt or innocence.
