NTM
if anyone is interested, there's a show Sat night at Neumos with a band that gets described as Zappa meets Tom Waits with some gypsy/carnie influence. Tix are $10 and well worth it. www.wearemanman.com

knappster99
I'm partial to his jazz/rock stuff, i.e. Hot Rats and Waka Jawaka, but who can resist that "Motherly Love... forget about the brotherly and otherly love, Motherly love, it's the thing for you. You know your Mothers' gonna love you til you don't know what to do..." Edited March 30, 2007 by knappster99

knappster99
"Bitches Brew" and Herbie Hancock's "Head Hunters" are integral in any serious musician's growth IMO. I don't know how many musicians are on this board, but how can you say you like/play music seriously without taking these into consideration?
