Cobra_Commander Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I'll keep it simple. If you buy a laptop and it is not a macbook you are an imbecile. Quote

flyingpig Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 i have a gateway. i use it for my business and it suits me fine. i heard that apple has the most user friendly features. i notice that dell is pretty popular these days to. i don't htink you can wrong these days. it all beats my commadore 64. lap dances are rad to. Couloir Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 FWIW, I've owned 5 Dell laptops and 1 tower. And though in my former life I swore by Macs, when I had to switch to a PC, Dell has never let me down. The few times I ever had an issue, it was resolved fast. Having said that, there are a lot of small computer shops that have geeks running them that will sell you/build you whatever you like for cheap. You usually have to be a little bit computer savy, but if you are, go for it. I bet you could get a nice LT for <$200. Quote
Duchess Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I own a Dell desktop computer and have to admit that, being far from computer savvy... I had a hell of a time trying to decipher their website and ordering procedures. I really had no idea what I was buying. I looked into a Dell laptop when my old Toshiba went kaput, but again, I couldn't decipher it. I bought an HP laptop, and I am absolutely in love with it. It's the perfect size, quick to start up, and I like the configuration. Sometimes I like to just admire the thing from across the room, that's how much I like it. I will never buy a Toshiba (or Dell) again. I bought it from Best Buy. What a mistake. Avoid Best Buy like the plague, if you don't already. Quote
ClimbingPanther Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 minx, I have had a gateway for 6 years, and apart from the fact that Windows XP takes up half the hard drive and it weighs a ton, it hasn't give me any real trouble. I still use it. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I'd get one from a dancer that looks like she's showered recently. Quote

John Frieh Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Being that it is a laptop I think battery life would be a concern... perhaps Minx should look into which processors use less juice. Apple did and look who they are using now And oh yeah... while you are at it buy some stock... I need a snowmachine Quote
olyclimber Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 but I'm with the commander on this one. if i were buying a laptop, i'd get an macbook. and those do come with the NOLSe chip. Quote
