Dru Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I agree that you can't pick (or get rid of) your relatives. However you shouldn't feel like you have to spend a lot of time with them. ....especially if you have an incestuous jones for your hot cousin Quote
olyclimber Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 wigballer, you gonna post pics of your cousin, or what? Quote
Dechristo Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 You can see why he's taken with the her: Quote
TREETOAD Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Hey that is a picture of my dog !!! WTF? She is even laying like a girl from New York Quote
Ireneo_Funes Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Story time! 15 years ago I was travelling on a greyhound bus from Minneapolis to Eugene. Somewhere near Butte a guy got on and sat a couple rows behind me. Over the next several hundred miles he provided the sole entertainment by telling everyone who would listen about how hot his girlfriend was, how great the sex was, etc. etc. After hours and hours of exhaustive detail on this subject, someone finally asked him "so where did you meet your girlfriend?" .... "At a family reunion!" Turns out she was his second cousin or something. Much hilarity ensued. Quote
AlpineK Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I remember reading a Savage Love column where Dan was responding to some dude who was sleeping with either his cousin or second cousin. According to Dan there's no proof that sleeping with your cousin will lead to bad genetic repercussions....so go for it Jake Quote
archenemy Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I check with Dan Savage with all my genetics questions. Quote
AlpineK Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I did a search for that column, but I couldn't find it. As I recall he did research the subject. Quote
tomtom Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 It's ok to be kissing cousins. Unless you have a peanut allergy, of course. You can also discuss your feelings on cc.com ( Cousin Couples). Quote
cj001f Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 You don't have to do bullshit hallmark holiday moments to spend quality time with family. Quote
archenemy Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I did a search for that column, but I couldn't find it. As I recall he did research the subject. Just messing with you. It is actually pretty common in Denmark to marry a second cousin. Marrying a first cousin is not unheard of. But then, its a pretty small country. And because we haven't discussed Mormons enough, we might want to mention that they have a history of some pretty tight-knit clans as well. Quote
knotzen Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I know a woman who is engaged to her first cousin. She had a lot of angst at first, but then decided to go ahead with the relationship, because it made them both happy. Quote
TREETOAD Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I know a danish person married to his cousin, his daughter was born blind. It is hard to say what caused the problem. Quote
cj001f Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 his daughter was born blind. It is hard to say what caused the problem. In womb onanism? Quote
Dechristo Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 In womb onanism? Explains why the sonogram was misinterpreted of them expecting a boy... confusion of digit identity. Quote
Dru Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 If you are your pwn cousin cause your aunt is your sister, does that mean you can marry yourself? Quote
cj001f Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Well, that's how we got Quebec. I thought Saskatchewan? Or was it PEI? A family member once had a patient (from West Virginia no less) who shared a father and grandfather Quote
John Frieh Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 As I recall he did research the subject. Where? In a High School Library in the State of Kansas? Quote
Dru Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Well, that's how we got Quebec. I thought Saskatchewan? Or was it PEI? A family member once had a patient (from West Virginia no less) who shared a father and grandfather West no-longer-a-Virginia? Quote
