Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted November 21, 2002 Posted November 21, 2002 It always has to turn into a discussion about pussy with you two, doesn't it? Quote
iain Posted November 21, 2002 Posted November 21, 2002 Just let me get my uncle on the phone and we'll take care of this problem. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted November 21, 2002 Posted November 21, 2002 How peculiar, Iain! Your uncle the cat has the same last name as that imorris character that posts here! It's a damn mystery, it is! Quote

Stefan Posted November 21, 2002 Posted November 21, 2002 Another hardman tour: Pickets traverse staying on the ridge proper. I think this has been done...it doesn't have to be new to be hardman stuff. Quote

Crackbolter Posted November 21, 2002 Posted November 21, 2002 The traverse will be repeated next year. The race is on..... Quote
Stefan Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 I don't know who did it, but I was told it was done....how? I don't know if they stayed all the time on the ridge proper. Quote
Colin Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 I heard that Joan Firey wanted to do it for a while, but as far as I know it hasn't been done. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 Pope did it three years ago. Quote

I ain't climbin' much of anything difficult these days, nothing that a piss ant couldn't hop over anyways. Besides, I ain't a climber. I'm an impresario, least that's what they call me. Uh, that ain't dirty, is it? Quote

freeclimb9 Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 Dru, sounds like you got an inferiority complex. The only time I've heard someone who "bagged on" the Cascades was a friend bitchin about how hard it was to find someone in Leavenworth willing to do anything other than boulder. Quote

I was referring to Twight etc. I think most climbers who end up bailing on the PNW do so due to the weather, and better road and trail access to the mts. in other ranges. Incidentally I see this years AAJ AGAIN only prints Grade IV routes from the Cascades yet loads of II and III's from the desert. What up with their "Grade IV mimimum requirement for a new route reporting" selective application, anybody know? Quote
bolt_clipper Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 Alpine choss? Where, other than the volcanoes? The N. Cascades are bomber compared to the slag-heaps of choss which are the Oregon cascades. Besides, anyone remember that article in Rock and Ice on the N. Cascades? There are few (any?) areas in the US that have the combination of rough terrain, glaciers, and decent rock. Lets get out there and enjoy it. Quote
