Chaps Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Page 22 is a hoot! So what kind of mountains are in "PDX"? What does "PDX" stand for, anyway? Quote
powderhound Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 It is the acronym for portland international airport Quote
billcoe Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Silver Bullet, 5:45-6 pm bring ropes. Â Mike, Me, Mikes gurlfriend will be there. Quote
aradia Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Technically, PDX is the airport code, not an acronym. But anyway, I might join up with y'all tonight. Don't really care what we climb, although I wouldn't mind trying to get up the route Michael and I worked yesterday (without falling this time =) over on video bluff. Â Is there a good route in the low 12s? Quote
Chad_A Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Page 22 is a hoot! So what kind of mountains are in "PDX"? What does "PDX" stand for, anyway? Â You "feeling Minnesota" types wouldn't understand. Â Isn't it about time to start up a usual, Tuesday night dry tool night again? Quote

billcoe Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Isn't the buttress only 11+? See ya tonight! Sounds like we'll have a good turnout... Â No, the book is wrong, always has been. First time I heard 12 was from a 5.13 climber who tried it. Try it and see. Then we'll talk. I use to be able to run up the thing. Not anymore. 12 for sure. Â Or I'm just old. Â And Fat. Â Just do hold elimations Sean. Use 1 arm or 1 foot. See you folks later. Â I have Wasp spray for huffing afterwards. Lets party. Quote
layton Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 thanks for setting up the ropes y'all and sorry I was so darn late. Quote
Thudman Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Is anyone in need of a partner for some local climbing tomorrow? Quote
billcoe Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 thanks for setting up the ropes y'all and sorry I was so darn late. Â It's all good Mike, I mean ...as long as it's your pump that gets cut into! Nice to meet your lady too, she seems nice. Â Notice, I pussed out on killing the wasps. Got dark. Quote

ivan Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Public Sprayer Announcement: At 43 pages the PDX thread is plenty bloated... please keep the spray to a minimum so people don't have to wade throught the shit to see where we are climbing. Thanks! Â laughable - ha! there's no putting the genie back in the bottle, vendajo! Â hey, what unemployed person wants to crag anytime over the next week and a half (and/or go out for some tasty alpine...) Quote
olyclimber Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I won't be able to make Drytool Fest this week. Quote
robert_bundy Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 can anyone in PDX climb tomorrow top rope or ez sport? Rocky, Broughton, or if you have a car any place. Quote
Knottygirl Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Hey, I'm busy tonight after work...but possibly tomarrow! I didn't climb AT ALL last week and its making me a little crazy! Quote
aradia Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 I don't have any major plans after work. I haven't decided whether to go to the gym or climb outside, so if anyone wants to meet up, let me know ASAP... Â Bill? Quote
billcoe Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Skip the gym I need a belay:-) This is for Tuesday .....right? (for today, try to touch base with Robert Bundy above) Â I killed the wasps over the weekend (I think) so Vertical Therapy is now available. Done that one? Â How about that offwidth next to Phylynx, that's good for a workout. Â Or anything you want is fine. Quote
aradia Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 If Bri joins us, we may want to find out how hard she wants to climb before deciding on anything specific. =) I'll have to check my list and see if I've done vertical therapy, but it doesn't ring a bell. If she doesn't come, I'm half-tempted to work Packin' Heat on mean street. But only half... Quote
billcoe Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Vertical Therapy is @ 20 right of Toothpick (11A/B) as you look at the wall. Â You'll get pumped on Toothpick, if not, I'll let you carry a 50 lb packpack to simulate what I'm experincing or ..."On the edge" is 15 feet left of that, it should be on your list of 12's. VT will be a good warm up so you don't blow any tendons. Quote
Knottygirl Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 If Bri joins us, we may want to find out how hard she wants to climb before deciding on anything specific. =) Hah! I'll let you guys know if I'll be there tomarrow...so don't wait on me to make a decision. I'll jump on whatever. Toothpick sounds good. Quote
