AlpineK Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 I just found out I got banned from ASSentionist.com. I believe this is a first from the site where they said they wouldn't ban anyone for expressing an opinion. I'm so proud of myself:chestbeat: It's so funny and ironic. For those of you who would like to go for a second banning just let me remind you that I got the full IP ban. Quote
ScottP Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 What expressed opinion got you banned? Quote
AlpineK Posted December 16, 2004 Author Posted December 16, 2004 I'm not sure...The last post I made I told them that they're all psycho and likely to go in to their place of work and shoot everyone. It might be something else though. Quote
ScottP Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 The "poke-with-a-sharp-stick" sort of opinion. Ouch. Quote
ChrisT Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 kudos to you for going through the looking glass in the first place. Quote
Off_White Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Sorry AK, but Icegirl got the full IP ban there before she ever even tried to register. That's a hard achievement to top. From the IPO invitation: There's a new Internet based climbers' resource-Ascensionist.com. An alternative to other climbing Bulletin Board Systems (e.g., cc.com, etc.); less bickering and BS; more talk of climbing. Quote
AlpineK Posted December 16, 2004 Author Posted December 16, 2004 I guess I missed it when IG got banned. Naturally, with any new BBS, Ascensionist.com will initially lack content, but with your help this will change. I believe it's time for a better climbers' resource; a resource where climbers don't have to wade through 10 pages of non non sequiturs and useless posts to get to information related to climbing; and a place where people aren't censored or banned for expressing climbing views and opinions that aren't mainstream. They should save some bandwidth and get rid of all the other forums other than the Battlecage; nobody uses the other ones. Quote

icegirl Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 When I was a moderator at this site (cc.com) I could see IP addresses of posters in the forums I moderated. I really should cycle the modem, but it's not worth the effort Quote
pope Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 That's sad news Alpine. But I've found a network that is more than likely to welcome you and your sport-climbing buddies: Welcome, AlpineK! Quote

I really should cycle the modem, but it's not worth the effort Well, right, but how do they ban someone who hasn't posted? Pulling the address off a reader's query would be a lot of work, no? Quote
icegirl Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 I was already banned when I first checked out the site. Though I'm no longer banned, so it's no biggy. Now I can defend my dogs honor in the "battlecage". Quote
chirp Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Pretty lame site actually, basically a bunch of children getting their chance to use profanity and crudeness without parents around. I have no use for that kind of fucking bullshit. CC.com at least has some form of coherent spray continuity. Quote

Double_E Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 i just went there for the first time yesterday... kinda amusing... i wonder how long it'll be before one of those idiots makes a "joke" about wanting to insert explosives into the rectum of say, Jacques Chirac or Bill Clinton.. and then allofasudden gets a visit from the Secret Service. duhh, whaaat? i thot you was anonnimus on the iinner'net. i dunno tho... it's good to know i've got a backup, in case i ever get too rude lewd & crude for cc.com, that i'll have somewhere to go play, er, spray. (highly doubt that would ever happen, but ya know.. just in case.) Quote

RuMR Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 hey Dru...if'n she wants to iron (or do anything else in a bikini) that is great...please STFU...thank you! Quote
Alasdair Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Wow I had not been to that site before. I wondered why cc.com had got better lately. All the complete shit and most of the dumbshits who write it are over there now. Good keep them there. Quote
