Retrosaurus Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 I am sure you are seeing just what you want to see. Quote
jja Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 I didn't see him. But maybe it had something to do with all the trash around there. Me and Eric must have picked up something like 15# of trash at our campsite. And there seemed to be a lot around the crags too. Hopefully it's not climbers. Quote
ken4ord Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 I went out Friday and Saturday on a road ride and mountain bike ride. Damn St. Eds is getting sick, some kids have been building some crazy hard stuff. Sunday I was up on Snow Creek wall doing a little alpine training. Trying to get my head on for moving fast in the mountains. Basically stopped at the end of my 70m rope and build a belay, needless to say some were hanging. Though I did manage to do Orbit and Outer Space both in 4 pitches each. Quote
whirlwind Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 lead the spanking train, did lizard chimney came out bloody, got scared on sagascarious, over all a good weekend at index jja Quote
ClimbingGirl33 Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Smith Rocks was AWESOME. Fantastic weather, good people, and getting my lead head on right (in spite pigeons of prey). B Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Weekend was HOT, and Oxygen is a cruel and abusive mistress. Too technical! Too sustained! Footholds?! Quote
texplorer Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 I sent on some fine granite this weekend. Index rocks. A spectacular setting, great weather, and some really fun climbs. Quote
RuMR Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Too sustained???? WTF...the hard climbing is about 10 feet off of a boulder???? Quote
Distel32 Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 that thing looks cool. I want to try dakine corner. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 The footholds are greasey slimey pebbles! And RumR I think the crux section is 12' from the boulder! Those moves up the vertical edges were impossible even cheating. Maybe I need stronger belayers to pull more of my weight Quote
Peter_Puget Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 I need a new computer with video editiing software - I have a great video of O2 Quote
lummox Posted April 26, 2004 Author Posted April 26, 2004 i like the boulders that have jolly roger marks on em. hehe. Quote
sk Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 It is a good weekend when you obtain all your goals. I got lost but not misplaced, ate good food, hiked (fell down and got a boo boo, thats what I get for not using a rope ) did a bunch of yard work and in general had a relaxing wonderful weekend. cracked Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 I had a ing good weekend. The corn was PLAB. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Too sustained???? WTF...the hard climbing is about 10 feet off of a boulder???? Listen, mister, how you say ... "ass hat"? For the refreshment of your obviously poor memory, the hard climbing starts about one DFA wingspan off the boulder (long cross off tweaker mono), and continues to the last bolt, where one gets a "rest" in a funky-ass two finger pocket and a sloping 2.5 finger pocket, with a few tensiony and powerful moves to go to get to the large flake at the top, at which point the footholds run out (again). Friggin' big-mouth hard-spraying Napoleon complex punter. Just 'cause you climb all hard you think you can talk shit ... Quote
