Whenever the cats bring in live rats, we just let one of the cornsnakes loose and it'll have the rat in minutes, then we just retrieve the snake (with bulge). Quote

First off, what kind of a cat brings in a live rat?? And secondly, do corn snakes actually chase the rats? Quote

A worthless cat brings in a live rat. The cat had it's claws removed, but you'd think it would know enough to bite the rat's head off wouldn't you? As for the snake, it can find and kill a rat in a 20 x 20 room within five minutes. It's happened more than once. When we feed the snakes their usual meal of live mice, the mice barely hit the bottom of the cage before the snake is on it. It's dead in 15 seconds. Quote
