skyclimb Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 I was just thrown out of the local climbing gym for climbign routes un-roped. I have climbed these routes a million times, and the walls are only 25-30 feet high. To make it worse it wasn't even the gym employees who saw me, but some fucking lame ass dude who rated me out. People sign waivers so there shouldn't be rules. Give me a break. Quote
Fence_Sitter Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 always pushin y alil bastard! lets go climb somethin again! Quote

erik Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 I DONT KNOW WHY ARE COMPLAINING.... Â YOU SAID YOU SIGNED A WAIVER, AND I AM SURE YOU READ THE WAIVER....... Â SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WERE DOING WAS IN THE WRONG. Â WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE CLIMBING AND YOU FALL ON SOMEONE............. Â WHO CARES ANYWAYS.... Â RETRO SAID IT BEST! Â Â Quote
J_Kirby Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 That wall is maybe 18-20' tall. Seriously weak sauce that they kicked you out. I used to "solo" in there on a regular basis, especially the chimney. Then again, it pays to know the guys (girls) working the desk. Quote
bigwalling Posted July 4, 2003 Posted July 4, 2003 Rules are a part of life! Some just chose not to obey all of them. Quote
Fence_Sitter Posted July 5, 2003 Posted July 5, 2003 especially if they aint got teeth... heres to gmilfs! Quote
kitten Posted July 6, 2003 Posted July 6, 2003 Sorry to rain on the thread - but I think some might agree. Being a parent - rules are SO necessary. My child would be a terror if we didn't have a strong set of rules. But in the adult world - yeah they pretty much suck! Quote

Alpine_Tom Posted July 17, 2003 Posted July 17, 2003 So what happens to them when you fall, and by a fluke you land wrong and you're paralized from the neck down, and sue them? A few months of legal wrangling and the college decides it's safer to shut down the gym, and everyone looses. Â If you don't want rules, build your own wall. Â Quote

thelawgoddess Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 gyms can give you super pumped up arms, though. i miss my super pumped up arms. but ... i seem to climb better with my puny arms. hmm. wtf? Quote
erik Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 probably cuase your footwork has improved. for some reasons i always find it hard to work on foot work when at the gym..it always seems to be about more power and less technique. Â Â Â Â Quote
