AlpineK Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 Last week at the Alki was fun. This week we could go to someplace like the Pyramid Brewery, or someplace else....... Quote
chelle Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 Wow! 21 views and no replies. Guess people aren't into drinking this week. Wherever is fine with me. Quote
mattp Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 Ehmic- Perhaps they are not yet ready to argue about where to drink??? Quote

Some sort of passive-agressive fight picking? OK I'm game. Where is this Pyramid place and why should we drink at a place that sells such shitty beer? The only beer more overvalued than Pyramid is Corona and McTarnahans. Quote

This seems to be indicative of the recent malaise that has stricken most of the posters on this board. I remember watching the stellar fights over wear pub club would be. These would last several days; it was invigorating. Where has the spark gone? Quote

I've never been there, but a number of folks on this board think it's a good spot to drink. I agree with how you rate Pyramid beer. If you want a real fight then someone needs to come up with an alternate location and then get a posse to back them up. Edited February 24, 2003 by AlpineK Quote
erik Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 food is expensive and beer is pricey too. Quote

I know a quick dirty way to get a posse to back me up. Hey! How about we drink somewhere in BALLARD?! Didn't we already have two PubClubs in the last month outside of Ballard?!! Don't we have some ground rules about this? Quote

AlpineK Posted February 24, 2003 Author Posted February 24, 2003 Ok here's another spot Al's on 45th in Wallingford. Beer is cheap, there's no food, but Dick's is just down the street. Quote
chucK Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 Ooops! REason NOT to drink in Ballard: from Seattle PI : A man suspected of killing an Oregon cab driver was spotted in Seattle and is now tied to two armed robberies here, Seattle police said yesterday. Stephen Warren Barr, 62, is suspected of robbing taverns in Ballard and in West Seattle at gunpoint early last week, said Deanna Nollette, a Seattle Police Department spokeswoman. [...] Two men -- one a steady customer and one a newcomer -- were sitting in TNT's on Tuesday, the day of the afternoon robbery, bartender Elsie Cuffe said. Quote

Dave_Schuldt Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 I would vote for the Zoo or Als. Quote
COL._Von_Spanker Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 Is the Nickerson what they call the old 318 tavern? If so, they used to have some good burgers. We used to go there before I was a kid and the parents would order burgers and we'd eatem on the hood of the car since I couldn't go inside. I like the nickerson idea. Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 Or the Dubliner. Parking in Fremont is tight, however, there is space on Fremont ave up the hill north of 39th street. There are also pay spots on 34th west of the bridge. Quote
allison Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 Dubliner sounds like a smashing idea, also I like the Nick as much as the next (Ice)girl. Quote
icegirl Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 another plus of the Nick is the fact that it is non-smoking until the kitchen closes... Quote

Just an observation about the lack of controversy after so many people had viewed the post. I was amazed. Given all the bs every week. If we end up at the Pryamid Brewery we have definately lost our zeal. Since there are a few places on the table now, here's my 2 cents. I'd prefer Al's to the Dubliner or Nickerson. Still think the Nickerson is too pricey. But I don't mind that as much in the summer when you can sit outside. The Dubliner is a crappy bar with watered down drinks that are too expensive, beer out of the tap is probably fine though. Quote
AlpineK Posted February 25, 2003 Author Posted February 25, 2003 It seems like the Pyramind backers are SOL. From what I read we can go to: Quote
sk Posted February 25, 2003 Posted February 25, 2003 hey does that mean I can vote on where you all go and drink????? Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted February 25, 2003 Posted February 25, 2003 Pyramid was suggested by David Parker because it's close to the ferry. He is in canada now. Quote
AlpineK Posted February 25, 2003 Author Posted February 25, 2003 (edited) Well you can, but then you would be forced to show up. Edited February 25, 2003 by AlpineK Quote
