actually i bet small mulism children in malasayia make calvin klein underwear.....so i think that wearing them would be justified by their belief system.

i think that there are two sides to this whole little debalace that occurs in the middle east. to proclaim one group more innocent then the other is pretty dumb. both sides are brutal and use sickening tactics in the name of their religion/belief system. the funny thing is how the isrealites think that king g/w is their friend, whereas reality points out that he plans to ruin all brown people whom are not metal slaves to christianity, the isrealites just tend not to be as brown as the rest..... and foraker i do not think that the majority of palestinians spend their days plotting bombing campaingins and the slaughter of children. and people use the tools that they have to accomplish the tasks at hand. so i see a nail bomb as valid as a helicopter gunship, tho neither are a legitimate start to a solution. destroying orgainized religion i think would be a better avenue to start down.

closed areas tend to be near open areas...funny how that works.... again who cares about locals...you need to talk to the managingin agency, and my comment about bitching is in reference to the post here on this website.
-
why bitch about it and not do anything? if you see a problem address it with the proper managing agency.

rear attachments on skins are dumb. i have mine cut just short of the end of the ski and have had ZERO issues(just add a bit more glue. and that is with 47 days touring this winter.
-
who really cares what any of these people due. we live in an oligarcy and that does not change. outside of increased taxes it directly affects my life nil. tho i find it quite laughable on the push to ban gays from getting married. who cares if someone wants to shit dick another person and lick their pussy, within the sanctitiy of marriage, i read once that most married couples practive anal sex to some extent. i see little difference.

the spring mechanism tends to get clogged or dirty faster then a traditional screwgate biner, hence the additional point for failure. granted all gear should be checked for wear or dysfunction to prevent such an occurance.
-
i use alpine skis for touring. off all the at skis i have rode i felt that they could not do what i wanted. dynastar all the way.
-
if it is the sunnto, i had one for awhile but returned it to rei cuz the small screws that held the band seemed to be stripped...it happend on 2 different watches of two different colors. and i felt that 200 bones seemed like alot of money to throw away due to faulty screws.
-
hi scottie...i have never really changed..tho now i dont work again and can focus on the things that matter most to me....then again 3 days a week skiing was never really taxing!!!
-
i think all auto lock biners are dumb and add a potential for faliure.
-
pete was using these new skins and they seem like a joke, alot of hassle for little benefit. the people at bd here in town seem nice, but like all retail their job is to sell.
-
the one with the lug sole. it will ast longer. i do not think that there would be much difference between the friction on approaches. as one with common sense would wear the proper footwear for the given activity.

erik replied to blue_morph's topic in Access Issues
mark maintaing access to public for recreation is only one faucet of the f.s./b.l.m and whatever other managing agencies that are out there...they are also to manage the lands for mining/timber and things like the lab in the icicle. all these other things are a potential gold mine for the managing agencies, yet they subsidizng the industries. in theory i believe that is managed properly the commercial aspect(mining/logging/grazing) can cover the operating cost of the f.s. and b.l.m. the fee demo programs are an attempt to ready the public for the continued commercialization of the recreation aspect of the outdoors. companies like rei, coleman, polaris and the like are backing these fee demo programs as they see a point of increased profit. they belong to o.r.c.a which is a lobbying group that writes these bills. also machine guns and suvs seem kinda ass backwards for protecting the enviroment. -
i think the actual dumb person is your prof, anyone familiar with email should know that to send mass mailings should be done with the "bcc" feature. it allows the receiver to only see his email addy and thus replies would be the same...it also gives a somewhat superficial security as it does not throw out tons of email addys. and on stupid people again i offer up the utah driver as the dumbest people in the world

the thing that gets me is that jja should be flamed more then anyone held in any caption....cuz in reality he was/is looking for spray on the topic. for me who cares who climbs what, or what they do or what they think of themselves or think of others..it is a waste of time and energy to go on about it so jja you are an idiot for attempting to create spray with a picture of some chick, who in book is a just another chick as i have never had any personal contact with her. so my opinion lacks the personal touch in which it therorhetically should offer.
-
just burn out...it happens to everyone..life should be more balanced and climbing only one outlet for yor energies,i would have thought that you would understand that...but then again adreneline and sucess are hard drugs to beat.

one would think that alot of services could be cut, like the purchase of new vehicles and high tech equipment to enfornce "anti fun" laws. i think the nps and other public land admins should look into not selling their souls to the consecionaires and their demands. people will flock to the national park irregardless is they have a choice of high dollar suites or dirty campgrounds. the national parks are not about goods and services but experiencing the beauty that is encased within their boundries, for each person the beauty and size of mother nature should not be dwarfed by consumerism.

it is busy and warm down there now....and make sure to watch out for the "we have so much fucking beer, but won't share with the people who put up our top rope and let us puff with them" colo"rad"ians. and there seems to be quite the posse of "no you cannot camp here in this huge fucking open space with 3 fire rings, because there is no more space with our 3 cars" montanians.
-
i'm with rudy on this and dont waste big money on ropes, unless of course you are looking for a specific wall rope or something with more edge resistance. i found a 9.9 60 sterling here in slc at retail price for $119 and have had no complaints about this year so far(granted only 9 days on dry rock since middle of last week)
-
just got back form eastern utah...not too bad..upper 70's tho it seemed much warmer.... now back to ski touring till next week!
-
pam spray works great and is cheap. also ascension skin glide is the same shit as gore's revivex.

i mean after one bad happening to oneself. i personally would imagine that one would learn from that; and make the best effort in attempting to avert such a disaster to occur again. one can only ever be responsible for oneself and their property.....
-
i climbed out at little cottonwood today and skied yesterday...so i am calling for a 50/50 split.

ha! i get the best of both worlds...i will be back in the pnw b4 you all know it..... and anyways i would not stay in this state longer then i have too.
