In my experience the metal sheets in most skis are thin enough the screws self tap with little ill effects. Nevertheless taps are "recommended"

The Aussie's I've talked to didn't seem particularly thrilled about it. Most still felt disenfranchised by their political system; choices we're for the lesser of the evils. Not an improvement.
-
Those aren't necessary. Drill bit & patience definitely needed. Not where I'd start if you've never mounted a binding. As a Dynafit sidenote - anyone know where you can buy the rental plate (looking for more riser)? Anyone succesfully bent the TLT brakes to fit skis wider than 75mm?

I'm not sure if you'd call it "big mountain" but most of the classic ski traverses (Wapta, Sierra High, Yose-Mammoth) have been done on skate gear in damn quick time. The winners of most of the ski tour races (like Echo to Kirkwood) are on skate gear as well. For skate gear you don't need top of the line gear; sub $100 poles work fine. Skate specific boots are a definite thing to have, combi boots

Scott, you can't filibuster in the House
-
OOoohhh! 1 incumbent! Wow, your right! It was an overwhelming victory!
-
That was clipped from their Party platform
-
Huh? Are you that brainwashed? They changed the composition of their district so much that there's no way they'd stand a chance of getting reelected! The Democrats have done the same in past - which is why we need 3rd party, independant district allocation
-
They didn't! They turned out to support the same people who'd been in office all along! Look at the local, state and federal level - how many incumbents lost? How many races were even competitive? Where'd those seats the Republicans gained in the House come from? The Texas redistricting plan designed by Tom Delay!
-
David Brooks (an editor of the Weekly Standard) writing a piece legitimizing the current President. What a surprise! If the Republicans are a "broad based coalition" why'd Arlen Specter knuckle under so damn quick? Why's Olympia Snow running scared? Why's Tom Delay (the hammer) in charge of the House?

hmmm "American Indians should be free to determine their own system of governance and should have their property rights restored." "Regulation of financial and capital markets represses capital ventures." "We advocate the complete separation of education and State." At an intellectual level this is classic liberalism, at a practical level these are revolutionary. Restoring all land rights to Indians? Going to give back Manhattan? Complete separation of Education and State? Goodbye State Universities, a majority of our science research budget,... The libertarian party is great as an intellectual exercise, as a practical and legitimate form of government we'd be screwed by it.

Here are 2 - read an avy book. Take an Avy Class.

But what about the revolution in Ice Screws? The only thing dumber than an Ice Fest is a mid-Winter BC ski fest. And Snoboy, Dru's right.

You volunteered, you haven't done it yet, you can't play the martyr. Unless you want to be John Kerry

We don't have a place. We might be able to get the backroom of a bar, or something similar, but a private dwelling would be cool. I'd volunteer mine, but I live in a studio apt.

Scott. 2,200 a year. that's less than the number of civilians who have died in Iraq this year

This? fe·tus n. pl. fe·tus·es 2. In humans, the unborn young from the end of the eighth week after conception to the moment of birth, as distinguished from the earlier embryo. isn't what you said:

But the abortion camp still trucks out those photos (I passed demonstrators Tues in NW PDX with similar pics on sticks) To restrict abortions, without overturning Roe v. Wade (which established the Fed government had no business governing reproduction, a precedent I like), you need a clear moment to define the fetus as a person. As another thread showed, there is no clear concensus on that.
-
In 2000 there were 2,200 partial birth abortions performed in America. 0.17% of abortions performed. Simplified and Distorted?
-
Which party are you talking about JayB? The party for steel tariffs? The party for closing America's borders to immigration? Protectionism isn't the province of the Democratic party - there are plenty of Republicans in favor of it.

klenke- People who take the bible literally are morons. Tom would agree
