    Pentagon 9/11 - Film

Bull$%^&! Sit at the end of a runway and tell me you can't tell the difference between a 7series jet and a commuter plane! Just the downdraft alone is way different. They were in traffic, in their car. Noise is a bit muffled.

    Pentagon 9/11 - Film

At 100ft it's hard to mistake a 757 for a commuter jet. I look at the film and see a bunch of people who weren't there, don't know the first thing about the area, and want to believe in conspiracy theories producing a crappy movie that fits their fantasy. The people on that flight were real, and are now dead. A friend ran into the first officer at a party the week before; another friend lost their therapist.

Dru- They at first thought it was an airliner bound for National Airport (which is just down the river). At that level you can tell the difference between a 757 and a learjet. They then realized it was way too low, and wouldn't be approaching national that way at all.

What a f'ing crock of crap. I had friends who were stuck on 395 9/11. I'm sure they just hallucinated the plane flying 50 ft above them. Just like I hallucinated the plume of smoke from the Pentagon on my way home from work 9/11. Or the gaping hole in the side of it.

    Tax simplification

That's my intention, free. How much does it cost them to print all the forms and instruction manuals nowadays? Just the savings from reducing/eliminating that would be large. Have the software encompass all personal IRS forms, and file it electronically. Given the size of the tax industry they probably have more lobbying power than the tax simplification groups

    Tax simplification

Why not have the government provide a software package for people to file with - input raw data, it spits out how much you owe (or get back) and files electronically for you. Quicken and M$ would be pissed, but them

  20. Your SS funds are invested in TBills, one of the most stable investments in the world. The low rate of return on the investment stems from the Ponzi nature of SS - your money is paying off those who have withdrawn more than they contributed. It isn't "mismanaged" it's invested to minimize risk.
  21. I dunno. That'd be a bit of a huck. Stephen's been having a Q & A in the couloir mag forum recently; might be interesting to ask him directly.
  22. I find "personal freedom" and healthcare today amusing. For those with employer provided healthcare, the employers pick the service provider and pay a majority of the cost as part of our compensation package. That portion is part of your compensation whether you choose to obtain health insurance through your employer or not. I've never heard anyone succesfully ask for a 10% raise because they've sought insurance on their own. It's a tax - I pay for it whether I use it or not.

  25. If it's so universal shouldn't this be born out in data? It's not well shown in the Nordic countries; hence my comment about dogma. There are many solid arguments to make about whether or not their system is sustainable(also for ours). That their system isn't working now, and hasn't worked for the past 40 years, is not an argument to make in my mind. And no I don't think that style welfare style would work well in other countries - but I don't think any one form of government would work everywhere. Pax et Cervisia
