    Question!

The Facts: www.pubmed.com http://pubs.ama-assn.org/ http://iai.asm.org/ www.nih.gov www.cdc.gov http://www.vaccinesafety.edu/ and my favorite: http://w3.palmer.edu/smith/vaccinfo/default.htm Strumpett, whatever your sources are, go and check the actual PEER REVIEWED original journal article. weak ankles

No, unless you fall on them or sprain them, but it doesn't really strengthen them either

    Question!

not vaccinating you kid is like not paying your taxes because you don't like the current government. It's not all about your child, it's about the society. We'd still have polio and smallpox if people were so selfish. It bet you'd say your baby was old enough for a needle if it was full of antibiotics to save it's life from whatever you didn't vaccinate it from. Although disturbing and creepy, breastfeeding your kid until it's 3 is very healthy for the child.

  9. Jordan, i know of a place...a secret place, where contours are so close, they create a quantum singularity. It's an hour and a half right off the road and it's 1,500 feet. Should be good. Don Serl saw it once and went insane. He clawed out his eyeballs.

  15. you gotta call it by the condition it was climbed, not what it could be. Plenty of WI4's are off the hook hard and scary when in piss poor conditions and some WI6/7's are now WI5 trade routes
  16. [Note: This is not an advertisement for my clinic. This is a service I am offering for the climbing community of Portland. I am in no way being paid for the services I provide. Moderators feel free to move this post, delete it, or make it a sticky. I placed it under Oregon Section since it really only applies to Portland residents] Hey Folks! Besides climbing, I've also been in school for 7 years now studying chiropractic. I'm in my last year and am doing rotations in the clinic. I am here to offer my services to the general public as an intern at the Western States Chiropractic College Outpatient Clinic. Send me an email or PM for more questions. There are several discounts, including $10 student visits, and if you PM me, I have some free initial exam/treatment cards available. Many of the injuries climbers sustain, be it acute or overuse are excellent candidates for chiropractic care. Chiropractic is a "catch all" term for how we treat. It is not just spinal adjustments and we don't just do headaches and low backs! Chiropractors in the state of Oregon are licensed portal of entry physicians who diagnose and treat the full range of injuries and diseases. We are set apart from MD's by the use of the most conservative treatments possible to get people better without the use of drugs and surgery. A conservative trial of care is in the patient's best interest to get better fast and safely. Chiropractors work with the general medical community, so if a second opinion or a referral is needed, we can get the patient to the appropriate practitioner. So if you have a new injury that hurts, and old injury that's bothering you, want to prevent further injury, or just get a check up on your health, come on in! This is a student clinic, so we take a little longer (which can be a good thing) and cost less. Call the front desk for scheduling and fee schedule. Services: Consultations Physical Exams Specialty Exams (Gyn and Procto) Chiropractic Adjustments Blood Work/Urinalysis (including routing screening exams) Nutritional Supplements and Analysis Casting/Splinting/Bracing Physical Therapy and electrical modalities Minor Surgery Massage/Stretching Techniques ...and many other services you might not realize that a Chiropractor offers Call to make an appointment with me. 503-255-6771 WSCC Outpatient Clinic Mike Layton Intern Dr. Taliaferro supervising Clinician 2900 N.E. 132nd Avenue (click for map) Portland, OR 97230-3099 503-255-6771 western states chiropractic college homepage Outpatient Clinic rehabilitation services (not inclusive) wscc d.c. program w/curriculum links
  17. and finally.... go look up how many folks have been killed by their chiropractor, or other alternative medicine provider vs. their MD.
  18. As for the comment about, who would you see "if you broke your spine? Had a ruptured disk? A brain aneurysm?" The answer: a specialist. I'm pretty sure that when you get diagnosed with one of these conditions by your MD, he/she doesn't take you into the next room and begin surgery. They would refer you to a specialist. EXACTLY like a chiropractor would do. If it turned out to be non-surgical, lets say a disc herniation, what would be the difference of approach? An MD would prescribe anti-inflammatory meds, and say stay off of it, or maybe go see a physical therapist if you're lucky. A chiropractor would begin rehabilitation and specific treatments right away, prescibe exercises, reduce the inflammation with a combo of NSAID and natural anti-inflams. What do you think would be the price difference?
  19. There are still "straight" chiropractors that still believe that philosophy, and good ones who acknowledge it as a possibility but don't base their treatments of diagnosis off of it. The "innate intelligence" folks are usually the ones who draw the attention and are the most outspoken, while the good ones don't get a drop of credit because of folks like you. Funny that the population or media doesn't generalize M.D.'s based off all the horrible things you hear about the bad ones. It's a double standard and it creates much hostility. It's really pathetic that this argument is brought up every time I mention my profession. Especially in a post that is supposed to be a service for the climbing community. But thanks to the people that have shit all over me and my profession, I seriously doubt anyone will seek care at the clinic I go to school at. Too bad, I could have helped a lot of climbers with shoulder problems, knee issues, back or neck problems, high blood pressure...you name it. If the "good doctor" had taken the time to read the services I provide at the clinic, he would have read that adjustments are just one of the treatments we provide. So I still need too see a lot more folks at the clinic, and I could only hope that climbers, who get injured left and right, would take advantage of this service.
  20. Leaches and bloodletting were standard practice in your profession not to long ago I do believe. "Stay off of it and take some ibuprofen and antidepressants" is a much better change for you guys! Thanks for the bigotry, and help with getting climbers injury free! All that for a $200 30 second visit! You certainly put me in my place.

  22. i thought gout the second i read your 1st post. so do you have THE GOUT?
  23. Honestly, I would only carry one on the rack for slinging something, or a few of the screamer versions. Is the weight savings really worth the increased risk? Not for me.
