  1. I'll delete some PMs.....on your mom. What the fuck did you do after that movie anyways? Your adventure ended rather early, eh?
  2. ahhhhhhhh, wasn't that better? now back to the mt hood thread!
  3. Good post HR!
  4. did someone steal Off-White's login or somethin?
  5. To those folks back in the midwest, or haven't been on a big mountain in winter...here are some photos of hood on random winter occasions on different sides of the mountain. No climbing shots are included to spare the innocent climbing partner his/her 15 minutes of fame. If you enjoy them then your argument against winter climbing is now invalid. Photos not to be reproduced without my permission please.
  6. grace the something good that can come of this is for folks to shut up about how we all need personal locator beacons.
  7. I bet they didn't have their "tote and chip" merit badge before tackling the lofy summit

    FOX "NEWS"

The Onion- EXAGGERATED!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!! Now you're gonna tell me it's just plain made up...but you'd have to be retarded (or China) to believe that...right?
  9. it took me several minutes to type out my xeroxed freedom of the hills harness kit and now its goooooooooooooooone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Matt, sorry - i couldn't help it. It's just that this thread seems to have become similar to a traffic jam caused by people slowing down to look at an accident...cept they're shouting out suggestions out the window to the wreck.
  11. Scout troops can also help one keep their snow cave "warm and dry"!!!
  12. "Lambone, Shini, and Layton: we have been trying for the last few days to keep this thread relatively free of the tit-fot-tat and similar distractions." Good Job So Far, Matt!!!! Don't piss off the locals.
  13. nevermind, Mattp deleted all of my posts goddamnit. got those fuckers riled up though!
  14. i had fun in the real forum, y'all should hop in, the waters fine. thanks for stealing my post treechoad.
  15. Post deleted by mattp
  16. STFU poser! Thanks for listing your backpacking gear, i'm sure you'd be rescued well before the summit, considering your 10 essentials encumbered bag of crap.
  17. you can drown in a thimbleful
  18. It depends on what SAR region. Don't know any hood folks. I've seen some really skilled ones (like in the Tetons) and some complete tossers...especially in the PNW.
  19. "One of the talking heads over at Fox (figure) speculated that perhaps the Y config. was perhaps "ladders" similarly to what is common on Khumbu icefall on Everest..." Oh my god. Someone needs a good shaking. Did (s)he speculate on "how they got those ropes up there?"
  20. Ice climbing and ski mountaineering in the summer would be a much better way to go except for the fact there wouldn't be any ice or snow. Winter should be outlawed.
  21. I quite enjoy his company, but -dare I admit-don't see what the fuss over his TR's is all about. I think you're being a POSER!!!
  22. don't worry about it. PNW climbers, especially the regulars on this website, are generally extra surly and xenophobic. that's all. we're just afraid that the MAN will now force us to do shit we don't want to do, or make certain activities illegal b/c of the extra attention. As someone pointed out, this is becoming this year's baby jessica, and a new reason for newscasters to wear spiffy new goretex brand coats while braying on like attention starved retarded children reading obvious shit to the masses of gapers, mouth breathers, and slack-jawed yokels. hope they find em tomorrow!
  23. If these locater beacons were standard practice, we'd be reading about lost "hikers" on Mount Everything in the paper every day of the week.
  24. why ryland said. don't 2nd guess these guys. If you don't support what these guys tried to do, then quit posting here and supporting the media circus this has become. Shit happens. stay home. watch your fox news. consume. That said, I do hope they are still alive, and much respect to the SAR folks doing a great job.
  25. So are the SAR folks going to find these guys if they weren't able to get out of their snow caves and get down on a clear day like today?
