Just wanna give a shout out to everyone that got after it this winter. Nice job for all those that got some, and those (like me) that got shut down constantly but still tried again and again regardless, i know there;'s a lot of you that did. You really don't see this kind of LOCAL alpine effort in any other places with the exception of the locals in the Canadian Rockies who have a lot more going for them.

also, why does everyone always bring up the Willis wall? does objective danger make something a cool? I'm more impressed with the steep shit.

I went to go do this line last year by taking the notch down from the NE ridge...not the way to go on a low snow year! Take triumph pass. Anyway, i was able to scope the route and it look...er, uh, well...like Off White said, not too impressive...actually kinda dumb. I x'ed it off my tick list as a SUMMER route (hint hint). The N.F. of bear was quite the experience, has anyone mentioned that? Also the N.faces (albeit super compact) of the Chehailis (sp?) range are quite inspiring. I also can't see how the NF of greybeard could be on the list.

Do they even make Xterra's in other colors besides yellow? I'd wear some smith yellow wrap around shades and listen to Franklin Park if i had a yellow Xterra. I'd also be in the real estate business

the road to back of beyond buttress is unpassible due to rockslide about 10km? from the mountain according to wayne's boyfriend, artesonraju...so bring a mtn bike.

well...the book is excellent

I don't think this area will ever get crowded, BUT there aren't a whole lot of climbs under 5.11 and the 5.10's are full on 5.10 climbs, also there is a significant grind to get to the climbs for single pitch stuff. that being said, i will continue to go there and have fun getting my ass kicked. i think with the spead of info on the internet, the climbers there will double, which means 4-8 people instead of 2-4. If you are climbig there, i suggest LEAVE A NOTE ON YOUR CAR saying that you are climbing (vs. fishing or hiking) so if you roll into the p.lot and see 5 cars there with notes, you don't have to slog up the hill and salvage a day at smith.

i have a grand total of 15 final exams and Board Exams in the next two weeks so i can only get out a 1/2 day this sat and or sunday...then i become test zombie. no alpine for me for two and a half weeks

It's gonna be 70 degrees today! Screw the ice, it almost gave me an ulcer this year! So when do you folks think we can start in on the alpine rock season? More specifically, what routes do you think will be coming into shape soon...or are in now. I may not go to J-Tree for spring break if the weather keeps up like this! Golly, infinate bliss was just climbed! You would expect that route to be a snot-mare right now! And WA pass will be accessible soon! Please report conditions if you're going out, or live near an area! Is snowcreek wall ready yet? What faces don't have snow on them at the WA Pass?

Guys, how long is the route from the start of the climbing (pitches or feet)? I really like the name you picked. Isn't it fun discussing/arguing about what to call something on the hike out or drive home...shit sometimes it begins on the drive there. what else did you guys see back there??? come on spill the beans. after 7 weekends of failures, luckily finals and board exams are coming up SOON so i can't steal any lines from ya. just want something to get an ulcer over for next year.

i don't think the effects would last very long, you sweat pretty fast. maybe to get rid of x/s suntan lotion. we use Purell hand sanitizer at our school when we palpate in labs and every time i forget that my hands have open wounds on them from climbing and I scream and freak out the whole class.

i have to say, this looks like the sweetest line i've seen in the n. cascades period. unbelievably awesome job of gettin r done.

are they one a penny, or two a penny??? i still haven't figured that part out yet????
