$91/day is up there, at least to me, but CO has always had some high lift prices. I should look up a day pass at Telluride. I don't have any answers to your questions. All I can say is Steamboat has nice tree skiing, but not much in the way of extreme anything.

Fairweather you do need to state the reason to carry a weapon in the NPS. If you were to pull into a parking lot and see somebody doing something illegal would it not be better to report in to the rangers and let them confront the bad guy. If somebody has been breaking laws then there are probably a lot of reports on file and the law can tie the bad guy to them. In the end it's much better justice than you pulling up with a gun and plugging them. You want to get into a debate about how you get out all the time. I'd just like to point out that given a personal injury I suffered not too long ago doctors are amazed that I'm even standing let alone getting out on a regular basis. Think about it. There are a ton of soldiers that suffer similar injuries with long term effects (years). All as a result of the war you love brought to us by your favorite president the current asshole in chief.

Ya know Fairweather I find it amusing that you have an attraction with linking me and others directly with TTK and MattP. While I can't speak for everybody had I never interacted with TTK or MattP I would strongly disagree with a large percentage of your political opinions. Early in the race for the president you displayed an astounding lack of understanding of survey statistics (math) when surveys showed a 50 50 race. It seems that now in your bitterness over the outcome of the election you're still off the deep end. I find the thought of you possessing a weapon in National Parks alarming. Better take advantage of your, "right," soon. It won't last long. You remember the 60 day rule on laws signed by a lame duck pres

I imagine Rush gets more exercise than you.

Actually this month will be my 15th consecutive month of skiing. I'm sure you venture out to the big screen TV to listen to your marching orders from Rush Limbaugh quite often.

So lets say Mr A decides to go for a hike in the park. His friend, who has the car, decides to go bird watching or hike on a different trail. The two work out an agreement so Mr A gets dropped off with a set pickup time. Mr A hikes faster than planned and or his friend doesn't keep track of time. The result is Mr A ends up loitering in the parking lot. Along comes Fairweather with his big fucking gun. He sees Mr A and thinks, "that fellow is loitering. Loiterers are a threat to my freedom." Fairweather then pulls out his big fucking gun and prevents any harm from coming to him by hitting Mr A in the throat and heart with two big bullets. His buddy KKK yells from the passenger seat, "Good show! Lets drive to another parking lot."

You have to have a gun in the national park to defend yourself against bears and bad bad people... Here's a true story recounted to a group I was part of by a judge in Arizona. It seems guns don't always preserve your life and freedom. Even if they had lived, shooting, or moving Saguaro cactus without a permit is a crime.

And I was already a couple years behind. (possibly NSFW) [video:youtube]arbgO5JO_CM

If the skiing really sucks you and the whole family can drive west past Gunnison and check out the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. All that's required is driving, parking, and looking north from the parking lot. It's a big fucking cliff, and well worth checking out.

That's one happy Latte.

I've skied there a few times in the 90s. I'd agree lots of rad steep stuff up high on the mountain. At the time I was living at about 8 grand, so altitude didn't take an adjustment. Most of the good runs take traversing or small hikes. Down on the lower mountain there's lots of beginner and intermediate terrain. Good for kids. Like all of CO they have snow making, so those runs will have a decent enough snow pack. I agree snow pack is critical for skiing the cool stuff. Keep checking reports. I made the mistake one time of going to the cheap early season ski days they have. No real snow pack on the cool runs leads to shitty skiing (this is a common issue in CO). If you need to save money staying in Gunnison is the way to go. They don't have the fancy pants hotels/restaurants/bars like Crested Butte does.

Every major religion has splinter groups. Mormons sometimes have some fucked up issues with inbreeding. I forget the christian sect, but one group went off and started Jonestown in Guiana. Catholics can have problems with molesting young boys... I imagine there's more trash talk about Christians since it is a lot closer to home for most of the people who post on this board.

I just got home from a nice Thanksgiving with the family. It was a good time! I recommend stepping away from the keyboard. It can be fun; more fun than this 'discussion'.

Even after the drinking age change Moscow is still where all the cow college folks come to party and have a good time. That is Moscow is a real town that's cool to hang out in. Pullman is a fucking hellhole. If Pullman were a fun place to be and party in there wouldn't be so many crosses seen on the highway between.

We'll the UI beat ISU, so at least they have a couple wins. In the larger picture The Cow College(WSU) sucks, and a win over UW means nothing.

We'll see if the game is as bad as Bozo State's drubbing of the Vandals. 58 to 14.

It sure sounds like your friend needs the unemployment benefits before starting a business.
-
I gotta agree with OW. I started a business on my own. There were no funky economic conditions, but that doesn't matter. If you feel stuck at your present job and have confidence that you can at least scratch out enough money to keep paying bills then go for it. No matter what don't expect a huge reward right off the bat. You're running a business because you like what you do, and believe that others will respect your skills enough to hire you for work. Don't start a business just for the unemployment benefits. You'll regret it.

Now were talking about something I care a lot more about. Bummer I need to go east for a show I guess.
-
My opinion? I don't really give to much of a fuck this far after the election is over. In the big picture, you and other republicans (slack jawed motherfuckers), were given a sound thrashing. If I was from MN I might care more, but the effect of this on the national political situation will be small.

It doesn't matter. The voter did not fill out the form correctly, therefore it doesn't count.
