  1. Index, Great Northern Slab. There are a few routes there. You can join the herd and top rope clasic crack. There is a bunch of stuff at Squish in the Smoke Bluff area. Castle Rock is good too.
  2. You don't have to get a permit to climb Dreamer. There is a Leavenworth bias in this state cause it was the first cragging area.

Neri, Judging by your previous job(s) I didn't think you would take me seriously. Anyhow I'm not hiring right now (economy). Good luck. Same to you Skitty. In reality I'm pretty safe...most of the time.
  4. My parents got me started. My father climbed in the Cascades and Coast Ranges in the '50s and '60s (he did the fifth ascent of Waddington). My earliest memory is of skiing a little slope in my parents back yard, at about 2. I started hiking and then scrambling and then at 14 I took the Mounties basic climbing course. I started the Intermediate course at 15 where I instructed 30-40 year olds in climbing. I eventually met people my own age to climb with. Since then I've done a lot of climbing and skiing, and I plan to do a bunch more. [This message has been edited by AlpineK (edited 08-05-2001).]
  5. I'm bringing firewood and beer. So I guess I'll show up. [This message has been edited by AlpineK (edited 08-02-2001).]
  6. Sorry Dwayner, I suppose using 99 is for advanced Seattle driving. I'll miss you guys next Tuesday, but I'll be in the mountains sitting in a tent in the rain or snow. I would be so psyched if it started snowing now.
  7. Maybe Office Space and Spray Lord can start their own group. Hmm... perhaps the Grumpy Old Men Climbers Club.
  8. So is there brand new webbing on the decent now? I may be headed there and would like to know.
  9. I've come here for two reasons to drink some beer and kick some ass....and the beer's almost gone. The higher you get the higher you get. [This message has been edited by AlpineK (edited 08-02-2001).]
  10. I don't know much about the toilet situation in Mazama, but I do know that Fun Rock is close to big bad downtown Mazama. I can drink a bunch of beer and still sport climb. [This message has been edited by AlpineK (edited 08-01-2001).]

Do you like hauling and chipping tree limbs while some jerk up in a tree drops large chunks of wood on you? Also do you like the smell of bar oil?
  12. Let's not get carried away Beck. I think if a bunch of people show up to the party that will be just fine.
  13. Your right I bet he could supply his own sludge, but I realy would like him to shovel other peoples sludge.
  14. Hey, I think the Mazama option might be good. Bridge creek is good too, but I bet we can make more noise in Mazama. Yeah Eric I've got a load of firewood drying out back I would be happy to bring a bunch.

    Miss Me?

I lived in Boulder for a few years. I met a lot of jerks. I'm sure it's the perfect place for you Donna. Please stay there.
  16. After reading some of Office Space's posts I've decided what he needs is a good charactor building job. My idea is to start a business that produces mulch for gardens. The kind of mulch I'm thinking of producing is a mixture of wood chips and sludge(decomposed shit). I would be willing to provide Office space with wood chips, a wheel barrow, and a pitch fork. All I need is a lot near Metro's West Point treatment plant. I think long days of mixing shit and wood chips would realy improve Office Space's Charactor. What do you think? Maybe you have a good idea too.
  17. East buttress on South Early winter spire is a good one; Slesse is too. I haven't been to the North buttress on Bear, but I bet it's good. [This message has been edited by AlpineK (edited 07-29-2001).]
  18. Like I said in another thread. I've got a pickup garbage cans and I live close to Maritime Pacific. So I can fetch a couple kegs. PS I won't bring any chain saws [This message has been edited by AlpineK (edited 07-27-2001).] [This message has been edited by AlpineK (edited 07-27-2001).]
  19. Schmidt. Ok so the name isn't that great, but their slogan used to be, "The beer to have when your having more than one." Plus it has fish or deer on the can depending on what's in season.
  20. I just did Gorilla my Dreams a couple weeks ago. It is bolted, but it's a fun pumpfest!
  21. This stuff rules [This message has been edited by AlpineK (edited 07-27-2001).]
  22. Vern Tejas soloed the west butt on Denali by walking in th middle of an aluminum ladder he had hung from his shoulders. I've done some glacier soloing, but I don't know if I would recommend it.
  23. I would be happy to show up with a couple kegs from Maritime brewery [This message has been edited by AlpineK (edited 07-26-2001).]
