Kevbone's ignorance astounds me sometimes. He claims to be a climber yet can't even figure out what the CAJ stands for or where Mt Baring is. I don't live in OR, but I do know about some of the larger features like Mt Jefferson, The Sisters, Mt Hood, or even Smith Rocks. Hell I even know a bit about the Wallowas Kevbone...sign up for basic mountain geography this instant. Hint: I'm sure there's a course offered in Canada right now. You have heard of Canada?

Exactly one year ago today the paramedics were taking me to Harborview after I fell off a ladder and whacked my head. He doesn't look at this site, but I'd like to thank my buddy Eric Matteo for randomly being on a job site near where I hurt myself and calling my parents. There were a few other arborists I know that were in the area that day and they did what they could to look after my equipment. Right now I'm a ton better than I was that day. I've got a ways to go, but I've been out climbing and I've even done a little work with some other arborists. Things are looking up.

I'm sure the gondola will have to go up the north col route. I'd hope they'd put in a restaurant/bar at ABC and a snack bar at the north col. They're going to have to do some burly engineering to deal with the 200+ mph jet stream winds that happen in the off season up high. The new golf course at base camp is going to be an engineering marvel too.

When I was there on the Tibet side we drove to 17 grand in big trucks. I guess now you'll be able to take your Lamborghini to base camp. The gravel roads seemed good enough. One thing about the Chinese drivers that really pissed me off was watching our driver speed up when he saw a Tibetan dude herding a large flock of sheep on or near the road and causing the sheep to scatter and leaving the poor Tibetan dude to spend his day trying to get the sheep back together. I know there are plenty of cool Chinese out there, but these guys were fucking pricks.

One of my favorite parts of the Barney Miller show is when they sent the nut jobs to Bellevue.

You wanna talk weird try Boulder CO. Bellevue has nothing on Boulder...."Hey let's go down to the Pearl Street Mall and check out the zip code guy." On the good side Boulder does have some great climbing close to town.
