  1. That was a cool thing to do. I skied up Snowfield peak last year. We headed back to the car, but up high I spent a while druling and looking at the rest of that traverse.
  2. No shit, despite recovering from an injury I spent most of yesterday out climbing. I was here today not that it matters either way since I don't mod this forum. All Kev's whining has inspired me to like Kev even less. Recovering Climber: Just happy to be back at it and pissing down your legs just gives you one more thing to brag about.
  3. No matter what any of us believe this last month in Iraq was the third most deadly month for our troops. 125 US citizends killed over there. I don't have a problem with having a strong military, but this, "war," is getting a little hard to take,
  4. It sounds like the perfect ski in for you since you can't ski worth shit. I was happy since I'm not suppose to ski this year but climbing on top rope is ok. Next year I have big plans to rip it up. In fact I plan on invading Canada for a week long ski traverse next season.
  5. Screw the comp and keep going.
  6. I've heard that same theory from folks who seemed to do pretty well in school. My theory is is the best thing for your education.
  7. I took one week of Partial Diff EQ then got scared and ran like hell. I did manage to make it through Abstract Algebra even though it did take me 2 tries. Maybe I should have dropped more acid instead of getting more real life interest in tree climbing.
  8. Yeah, I like the mag, but I'm too cheap to pay.

    Git 'em!

Seattle has a new fame now. They were just talking about the spamer on the BBC news He's dubbed, "The king of spam," and he's a hometown hero. The other quote from the program was: "The king is dead. Long live the new king."
  10. That video was great. I'm going to spend a bunch of time up that way next season
  11. I've got a huge tub of new drywall primer and sealer. I'm sure it will stand out at the crag. Can I climb with you.....please.
  12. Sheaf won't respond. He only starts posts.
  13. Back when I was working for a tree service we had a project that we shared with 2 other tree companies (including the company that just put out the job add on the main board). The job was down at Fort Lewis pruning and removing trees in the housing areas of the base. We carpooled to and back from the base. One day I was driving my rig home with 3 other guys. Somewhere just south of Tacoma I-5 was clear in front of me when all of a sudden I see this huge tire flying through the air from the southbound lanes. The tire hits the highway just in front of me then goes sailing over my rig. It was lucky that the tire went off the highway and didn't hit any vehicle just behind me. A little ways north we see this rig in the southbound lanes pulled over with problems. The whole thing was freaky.

    I'm in love

Can't we get back to the good part.
  15. I think some of them were going to ride along since alcohol makes you yell louder thus providing an important part of the search.
  16. I got nominated as the driver of the search vehicle. Everybody figured I was sober and even though I can't drive just yet I was the obvious choice.
  17. Typically I would say yes. Occasionally things do slow down a bit but not that often.
  18. Seattle Tree Preservation is a good company. I've worked for them for a couple weeks when my previous company was slow, and I'm good friends with a bunch of folks who have or do work there. John H is a decent boss. I've known him for longer than I knew about the internet. If you want to be a full on tree guy/chick you'll be expected to become a certified arborist. When you're just starting out plan on spending your days dragging brush, chipping, and raking unless you already have previous experience at a real tree service. I won't say what the pay rate is, but you'll get paid fairly and get raises as you progress. I have 17 years of experience at this kind of job. PS This is a real tree company not a bunch of tree butchers (I'm sure the butchers are probably hiring too)

    I'm in love

I need to figure out how to get a date with her, but she looks like the ideal woman for me.
  22. That was a fun party last night It was nice to see all of you and meet some new people.
  23. Ok so I'm a little confused and depressed. On the 25th I was at 208.5 lbs As of today I'm at 213 lbs. that's down 7 lbs by my start date or down 3.5 by the official start date. It's kind of sad since last week I was down 11.5 lbs. I did go to the Ski In and eat a bunch of salmon and drink soda, but I also did an 11 pitch climb and go for a long hike. Maybe I should quit eating and starve myself.
  24. I talked to one of the people involved in the search for the dude not too long ago. The guy I talked to doesn't believe that the dude was down a ravine for so long. They did do a very good search all over the area for the guy.
  25. THANKS EVERYBODY It's good to still be here and know a bunch of cool people. So far today I sold my Isuzu to a good buddy of mine from OR. That was a cool truck, but now I've got money to buy some important stuff for my new business. Well semi-new business. I may go out and run stairs and get ready to party tonight...crazy soda pop action
