Hey man if you get a traffic ticket in Canada you either go to the bank and get a check in Canadian currency to pay the fine. If you are too lazy to get an exchange you send them US funds and Canadian government gets the profit to keep, or sends you another bill and charges you for late payment.

I like Washington, Jefferson, and the rest, but some new faces on money would be nice. Plus I've got buckets of pennies at home, and a separate jar of Canadian money. One currency

Near the end of my 3 years living in Colorado. I got and read the Ken Kesey book Sometimes a Great Notion. Living in that dry climate but reading about rain and big trees got me really homesick.

They want information on use of areas of the park. To be fair they are trying to do that and a few other good things. Obviously the fines are a little steep. Personally I like spending my free time in the coast range. Things are a bit more free form there. You do have to talk to the boarder guard if you're American.

Fine then a $15 fine for the extra work.

Maybe Americans are starting to regret the revolution, and we're wishing for a king/queen. Think about all that tea we through away in Boston. Maybe not, but it's a theory.

wtf does being manly have to do with being annoyed as all hell when you arrive at a cliff and find damn near every line has a rope on it with a huge queue waiting to climb and people milling around not climbing?????? Answer: Its got nothing to do with being "macho" or rugged or anything of the sort...i'm just plain ol' fashioned PISSED OFF WHEN I RUN INTO CLOWN ORGANIZATIONS... you grow up and figure out how to share... My mom taught me when I was a kid that it's nice to share. I'm sure it doesn't happen all the time, but I've seen quite a number of times when the club doesn't follow that simple rule. I'm willing to make fun of the mounties, but I've been around the group since I was an infant.

Dave did you not click on the link I provided you?

I believe having a ranger willing to phone in a permit from the field would go a long way to help the parks get the info they need and make sure people out in the backcountry aren't doing anything totally nutz. It's the folks who dump trash or light big fires who really deserve a monetary fine.

I'm thinking I'll try and bring some firewood. I don't have a ton like I used to in the old days. Plus this time I'll have to load up firewood and bring it to Rope up via Spokane. I guess I'll end up staying in a motel in Spokane for a couple days prior to Rope Up. Right now I'm trying to remember the lyrics and name of that country song that goes, "I'm stuck in Spokane in a motel....." Somebody else should bring firewood too.

She seems to be doing well, but it ain't over. Meanwhile the repubs seem confused about what they're doing.

I liked VH while in jr high, but I grew to not quite dislike them, but to not be very interested soon thereafter. Now my attitude is, "way to stick with it."

David Lee Roth looks to be in pretty good condition for a now old rocker.

The rangers issue permits in the backcountry for folks who forget or blow it off while climbing on Rainier. That seems like a pretty sensible way of dealing with the issue.

I saw the rain but missed the thunder.

I never expected bands like that from my high school days to be still around.

Thanks for that link. I'd forgotten about that one.

That was fantastic. I used to go to SB all the time since we had to get up super early to work and when you're trying to maximise your sleep time you don't get up early enough to make your own. SB was the only joint open at that hour. Thank god I don't have to get up that early on a regular basis any more. If I want coffee out any more there's a wide array of choices out there.
