  1. It's always climbable just under different conditions.
  2. I'd agree with that.
  3. I tried to go to the registration, but all I got was a message about the wonderful opportunity to sign up to Active Network.
  4. It's been a while, but I remember hearing that same story on the radio. It wasn't on a Paul Harvey show, so I don't know if it was true.
  5. See my post in the Pet pnwers thread. There are so many more choices than just coyote. What you want is a well cared for dog.
  6. While I was in Tibet I met this guy who worked in Hong Kong and Singapore. His job was to find clothing manufacturers for clients in the US. As part of the arrangement he would take the factory owners out to dinner. Sometimes he would have to get a cook and come up with a nice local meal. Quite often this would involve going out to the market and picking up a couple happy looking schnauzers; then it was off to the butchers with the happy looking dogs, and then back to the cook with the ingredients. He felt bad about it, but that's what the clients expected for a nice meal.

    Ski's?

I have no idea how you could find this, but there are these things that used to be popular back in the 70s. In the 70s stiff ski boots were the hot new thing. Many people at that time had old ski boots and couldn't spring for a brand new set. As a consequence you could buy a product called a, "jet stick," which was a plastic toe and ankle piece that you could strap on to the front of your boot and give you the feel of a nice stiff boot. If you could find or make something like this you would have a light weight stiffener to strap on your climbing boot. It might give you more control for skiing yet be removable for climbing.
  9. If I remember right you're just west of Ned there and the top of the peak looks into the watershed there. If that's right then I remember a few times in the spring when folks would head up with skis and drop into the watershed for a run. Often there would be a ranger there and the ranger would try and chase down the skiers for being in the watershed illegally. Most of the time the skiers were fast enough they could escape.
  10. Return fire! You're an American, where were your guns? Flank and deliver suppressing fire. Dude I was 8 years old and they wouldn't sell me a gun....those bastards
  11. Vulgarity is a fine art.
  12. My mistake
  13. I've got a German background...not that there's anything wrong with Ruskies. That's more my style

    Ski's?

True, but if your using the skis for the approach and exit from a climb it's more important to have good boots for the climbing than the skiing.

    Ski's?

I've got an old pair of Silvretta 404s. I've done a ton of bc skiing on them. I think if I was approaching a climb I would try and find a 300 model if you can. Definitely worry more about the bindings. Try some cheap old skis. If you don't like em you can ditch the skis and try something else

    Ski's?

130-140 What are you 5'2"??? I bought short skis and they're 190s. My cool skis are 207s. I have no advice for modern skis. I'd be a little more picky about bindings to go with mountaineering boots. I believe Silvretta has some old model bindings that would go best for a set up to approach climbs. Getting used to skiing on mountaineering boots takes some practice. Be prepared to suck at first.
  17. There's nothing wrong with the Blue Moon. The Zoo is good too; if you're not an uptight yuppy. Sadly I've watched the bars on Ballard Ave getting nicer and nicer and loosing their cool dive atmosphere. I mean they've scraped the tobacco stains off the art work at Hattie's Hat Ballard may have to take a back seat. Mark my word the future is South Park and Georgetown. I've got some roots in Georgetown the old German neighborhood. Hell Georgetown got sucked into joining Seattle which was a bad move. Free Ballard? I'm with you, but free Georgetown first.
  18. does that mean I was in a position of responsibility? No I'm talking about being given permission to leave the state..
  19. Wide open.

    3rd Quarter

Now a days there's a lot more national in the National Guard, but in the past they've stayed mostly in state.
  21. It was a supervised release program.

If there's state sponsored torture then a little of the funds come from me.
  23. My standard response to anybody who doesn't like the weather is, "then leave." I've left for short stretches of time too.
