  1. I have a hard time seeing how I made any personal attack whatsoever. I just pointed out that your omission undercuts your argument.
  2. Further in the article: "In France, the benefits of the EU are unclear, Le Boucher noted - "economic growth has stalled, unemployment is rising inexorably" - and pessimism reigns. But that general malaise - rather than genuine Euroscepticism - explains the antipathy towards the EU, reckoned François-Xavier Piétri in La Tribune. The polls really reveal France's dissatisfaction with its own "unaccountable political leaders", he argued. And it should come as no surprise that the constitution has become a scapegoat for French woes, agreed Les Echos ' Françoise Fressoz." Nice selective quoting there Mssr. Puget. Perhaps you should have read the entire article.
  3. There's more to the marsupials than Koala.
  4. Black Diamond Snow Pack, about 5 years old, recently had buckles replaced, clamshell design with shovel pocket. Great ski pack. Shows signs of wear: $40 Eagle Creek Travel Wallet: $5 North Face fleece pants, full side zips, size large (but too tight for my fat ass and I have a 36" waist): $30 Vapor Barrier socks, never used: $10 All prices are negotiable. Send me a PM if you have any questions.
  5. Which reminds me: whats green and smells like pork?
  6. Feel the love.
  7. A sure sign that a topic has neared the end of its discussion period is the appearance of the evil homonym.
  8. Who is your insurer?
  9. "The costs of military evacuation flights operated by the U.S. Military or Air National Guard within the United States are not covered costs or expenses, unless the insured is billed for such costs by such entities. " Since the insured isn't billed this really doesn't do ya much here in the US. Good to know though.
  10. AAC insurance only covers you for overseas rescue. Not in the US. The military has always said they welcome the opportunity to rescue folks as it provides realistic training for them.
  11. I've seen quite a few walking around with their "Che" t-shirts on. Stop and chat with one. I wear one. On the back it says (in spanish) "Its better to die standing than to live on your knees." Does that make me a commie? Does that make me a supporter of Che's bloody tactics? I don't think so. C'mon, you can't really be that closed-minded where anyone who wears something affiliated with pop iconography is autonamically an ideological supporter? If anything, I am libertarian.
  12. Why would you have insurance if you dont have a license? For that matter, what insurance company would insure you?
  13. You need to open up, Bob. We can't help you if you keep holding back your true feelings.
  14. You can sign away your life to the military at 18 but not responsible enough to be served alcohol. Anything wrong with that?
  15. Its also the 50th anniversary of the polio vaccine. Not to steal FDR's thunder.
  16. Canada
  17. Nice try, Torquemada. Nice try at what? If you are arguing that the only legitimate voice of protest is that which has served its country than I would think you would agree the converse is true, that is if you support our countries war efforts the only legitimate way is to serve. I wasn't making any personal attack. Lets not call each other names, hmm?
  18. I've met just as few liberals who "consider" opinions outside their dogma as conservatives. I agree with this statement. Closed-mindedness is a part of either political extreme. Reed, a decidedly liberal college, had one lone republican student on campus (I bet Pax and Squid remember him) that was in a number of my classes. I never saw anyone catch more shit than that guy, who often presented well-reasoned, thoughtful analyses of his viewpoint which was in stark contrast to the shallow, incoherent opinions of some of our classmates who attacked him.
  19. How long did you serve?
  20. Everyone but you and Pat were there. I had to bail early but it was a good turn out. I think we should do another slide show, so that people who were unable to get their stuff shown can get some time. Thoughts?
  21. well said
  22. So, Pete, were you looking for a date?
  23. old news
  24. Lots of science is influenced by political or economical agendas. Bias is something that I don't think you can possibly exclude from the scientific process--isn't the very reason you are studying something in the first place an example of bias? I invite you to read Galileo's Revenge for some great examples of bias in science. It also shows how the scientific method tends towards self-correction over time because it requires reproducibility.
  25. I have a canon G2 thats been above 19K and worked fine with the factory rechargeable battery. I noticed no difference between performance at altitude or sea level.
