Things to watch for: you might decide too quickly and to form opinions how things "ought to get done." But what happens when circumstances change? Also, don't walk on others feelings...it's part of working with others and you don't particularly consider this part often...when you get emotional and you've been holding stuff inside, a seemingly minor incident will set off an explosion...don't forget to consider others' values and opinions. For the record, in my lightweight 1st aid kit, I do carry a CPR mask & latex gloves. Of course, after being around cc.com, a biohazard suit may be the next addition. Did you know there is an increasing prevalance of people who have an anaphylactic (sp)reaction to latex & other rubber products (no joke). There are some new synthetic gloves on the market that take care of that risk.

And people who don't buy lotto tickets have a very poor track record in winning the lottery. Personally, I would try CPR with a trauma victim. I'd have a hell of a time living with myself if I didn't at least try. But that's just me. See CPR supplies thread for the precautions I'd take.

It is sad to hear about yet another climbing acccident. I hope that all involved, both from the victim's climbing party & family, as well as the folks who witnessed and attempted to help are doing as well as can be expected. Kudos to those who tried in vain to save the guy.

If women want to talk to each other w/o interference or spray from men, then use IM or e-mail. I believe that it's very diificult to achieve equality from behind walls or a closed door. On the other hand, If the women of cc.com want a forum to call their own, and want a selected cross sections of their opinions and views to be open for public display free from the threat of being walked on, let them have it. Kind of the same ideaology as a 1st Ave. peep show, dontcha think? You can look, just don't touch......
