You can pick your friends You can pick your nose But, you can't wipe your friends under the couch after you pick'em. This was the auto sig on my nephew's e-mail!
  3. Hell, I would think that behavior ilke this is part of the Miss Nevada contest! On a side note, there was a line in the Seattle Times the other day that said that Miss Nevada and Miss USA were spotted making out n a bar in New York. Not since the 1980 Olympics had a crowd chanted U-S-A, U-S-A so ferverently!
  4. Was the SG made prior to 1960? If'n you all are nice, I'll post a pic of my 67 SG Custom.
  5. Annapurna K2 - The Savage Mountain Eiger Dreams Recently I read a novel by Jeff Long titled "The Wall". Interesting bit of fiction, worth a read in my opinion.
  6. I bought a used Stairmaster PT4000 about 5 years ago and if I can't go out running, or miss my cardio on gym nights it really is a great workout - so long as I don't lean too heavily on the rails.
  7. Ya know, I'm really going to miss you. No wait a minute, that was someone else. Who the hell are/were you anyway?
  8. Another opinion on this topic
  9. That really sucks. The perpetrator should be taken into an old barn, nailed to a chair by his scrotum (though it is difficult to believe he posseses testicles, and if he does they are probably stolen). Then the barn should be set on fire and he gets a dull kitchen knife handed to him. And then shot when he comes running out.
  10. We are all entitled to our own opinions, some of us believe we are entitled to our own truth. For me the truth is there is nothing wrong with sport climbing and it does have its place. My opinion of rap bolting is that it is kind of a wholesale attack on what could be a beauitiful and pristine area for the sake of its conquest on the bolters terms. And I personally don't like it. But I do believe it has its place in places like Peshastin, deception crags, etc. Sport climbing, in my opinion, should never be thought of in the same context as alpinism. They are really two different things. As far as the advances in equipment and techniques in alpinism (crampons, cams, etc.) I think they are o.k.; they make what you are doing easier to accomplish, but leave minimal impact. There will always be the olditmers and thise of us who like to bitch that say it isn't as hard as it uesd to be, and that is the truth! When I see what others had to put up with 20, 30, 40 years ago, I'm even more impressed by what they did. Now as far as boycotting the movie, who the fuck cares! If nothing else, give some alpinism equal time on the same bill!

    Mac vs PC

I purchased my first Mac in 1987, an SE. 9" &W monitor, OS 6. I'm on my 6th Mac, a G5 21" monitor iMac. it is a beautiful machine. In the last 20 years I have been a dual user, PC's at work, Mac at home. We have a home built PC that my wife uses, but give me a Mac any day of the week. I have yet to find the need for an application that wasn't supported by Mac. Currently, I use safari for web browsing and haven't had any issues. Go for it, take the plunge, you'll be glad you did.

  14. Trask is the lead bathroom trombone and skin flute player at cc.com's banned camp.
  15. Actually, I have it from a good source that Trask is currently smoking turds in purgatory waiting for an opening in the "get a dirty sanchez from satan" line.
  16. Rates right up (down) there with a poo thread... Mods, could you move this to spray, or splatter, or whatever the fuck this hernia thing will do. MP & MF, set up a web cam so we can follow the drama!
  17. So, anyone else notice that gas has gone up a few cents a gallon since the beginning of the week? I'm not saying.....I'm just saying.........
  18. Gregoire asked for a re-count (within state election law). Rossi took it to court then when he lost he slammed the state supreme court for being too partisan to have a chance at an appeal. Rossi is an asshole.
  19. But no one delivered the punchline better than Drew Carey!
  20. Uh, we don't convict people of sins, we convict them of crimes. I believe there is a difference. Depending on your beliefs or non beliefs, the judgement of sins will come at the appropriate time.
  21. It occurs to me that an impartial non-partisan (or better yet bi-partisan) fact finding of events leading up to the botched offensive in Iraq would be a good thing. All involved in the political process leading up to it should be held accountable, although one could argue that based on yesterday's election results many have been held accountable. An impeachment right now would be revenge based and that is the last thing we need. What both major parties need right now is a better working together strategy.

    BLOOD FOR OIL!!!

    Vin Diesel!
  23. Literalism is a simpleton's refuge. The fact (I mean, implication) that you think liberals need refuge speaks volumes about you; doesn't it? I believe (with all of my moral convictions)what he was implying was that simpletons need refuge and take it in literalism. Dork.
  24. I think conviction is a better term than moral values in describing the right. I agree that the left believe that their positions are driven by their set of moral values. What pisses me off is about the right is that they try to characterize fundamemtalist christianity as the only true morality. Just ask Ann Coulter. We liberals are godless.
  25. I'm somewhat liberal myself, but I take what I hear on NPR with a grain of salt. I do believe that coming off the "moral values" agenda would significantly decrease the Republican voter base.
