So here's the deal; based on the title of this thread I felt compelled to reply. I personally did not believe that a congress and white house full of democrats would "cut and run" as many had believed they would. So the notion that the war funding was approved was a no-brainer to me. I stand by my earlier comments regarding my belief that going to and staying in Afghanistan was and is justified. Has the effort there been managed well? My opinion is no. The current state there seems to tell that story. Kevbone, I believe that Al Queda did take credit for the September 11 attacks so that was the basis of the statement in my earlier post. The Taliban was and is harboring them. There are lots of opinions of why we are in Iraq, my belief is that the reasons given to congress were bogus at best and totally fabricated at worst. If my interpretation of statements from the White House and Pentagon are correct, we plan on being out of there before Afghanistan.

Wow JB, thanks for your opinions. Have a nice day.

For the record, I have never been against troops in Afghanistan. That country under the rule of the Taliban is/was a hiding place and breeding ground for the groups that are waging jihad. Those groups, or one in particular, executed an attack on the U.S.. Iraq, on the other had, no one has come up with any credible rationale for why we went in. We're in knee deep and to immediately pull out (or pull funding) would be ridiculous.

Shame: The 'Anti-War' Democrats Who Sold Out I own things that I didn't buy, but have to pay the upkeep on. I would much rather see funding for continued operations than to just pull the rug out from under their feet. Yawn.

What's that funky ass smell coming from your vajayjay, bitch!?

And thanks to you also, Mel. Yes indeed, I downloaded and showed that very same vid to my wife just last year when Nick started cooking as a reminder of what not to do in the event of a grease/oil fire. I'm glad she remembered it. Glad to hear everyone is ok. Anything up to the whole house can be replaced. Family, not so much...

Probably not, but you'll smoke a turd in purgatory for 3 weeks minimum. Sitting along side of me.

Don't worry about your diet. I hear you look great as you are! There's an old Bill Cosby routine where he justifies to his wife his feeding of chocolate cake to the kids for breakfast. Something to the effect of "it's got milk and eggs, which are common for breakfast. It's got flour, which goes into pancakes, which you have for breakfast, it's got sugar, that's in cereal...", etc. Probably on you tube, but I'm too lazy to find it and post it.

For God's sake, give it a rest would ya? Jeesus!

There was a discussion on KZOK (Bob Rivers) a year or so ago about Tramp Stamps. Joe - My wife's got one of those tattoo's on the small of her back. Spike - Really, what is it?. Joe - A coaster. I almost wrecked my car.

fuck the news! climb!

I'd say Newsweek's bias to the left would be about equivalent to NewsBuster's bias to the right. Yawn. How 'bout those M's, eh Pita?

I don't know about that. Politely correcting someone's post on a thread seems kinda like fucking them in the ass and giving them the conservative, I mean courtesy reach around.

Are you doing this for fre, or will there be a "participation fee" involved?

Nice Guys. This one is now officially on my list!

A couple of things I remember about that series and era. I was as lit up as I've ever been the night the Sonics won the championship. A bunch of us had a helluva great time in Downtown Seattle, in the area where the convention center is now. Remember the "It's not over until the fat lady sings" quip from Dick Motta? One of my favorite banners hung up at a game during that series: Wes Unseld is the fat lady". Good times.
